Good trainer for this price, I recomend it

Mar 23, 2017

Very, very good plane for the price, good sized plane, good brushless motor, powerfull more than enough for this plane, if you crash it, of course, you will have to repair it, and continue, is very easy to do.Of course, there are some aspects could be improved, but, for this price, is a good choose. I recomend it as a good cheap trainer.

Well, here goes my little plane, the motor did not work at all, I tried to bind the unit several times to see if that could fix the issue, but nothing, I got all of my servos to work just fine, but the motor seems to be defective since it does not run at all, either the motor is bad or the ESC, or both, I don't know. So, now I have a nice plane that I cannot fly. I will have to get new power components. The plane looks nice, and it would have been nicer if for the money I paid it would have worked. I do not want to sound like I am against HK, since I never had an issue with them before. But, it is what it is, and this plane does not work right out of the box. Sorry, but I am a bit disappointed.

Plane flies slow and stable, it's easy to pilot it for beginners. Elecronics included is poor quality. One servo died after 3rd flight. Engine stopped during the flight. Foam isn't hard in any way - you'd better cover it with glass tape. Included props are a bad joke. Battery compartment dimensions size is too short for most popular li-po sizes.
I'ts better idea to buy bixler or something made of EPP.

Received the kit in good order with one exception and that is I was missing one wheel and tools. Assembly instructions are lacking details such as which screw to use but it can be easily determined. The battery compartment has to be enlarged if using the 3S 1000 recommended battery. Overall I would recommend the J3 Blue as a good solid 3 channel flyer.

Very good plane for the price. Very stable and easy to build and fly. The art pattern looks great in the air and very easy to see. The zippy compact 35C 1000 mah battery required some easy modification in the battery compartment but it works very well. I can easily get 10 minutes of flight time from 1 inexpensive battery. I agree that the ailerons are really nice to have. Therefore, I modified it. The wings have a pre-molded aileron to it which I just sliced the sides of it and bent the aileron. Then I hot glued a light servo to the wing and used some servo arms I had laying around. It works fantastic. I have about 30 flights on it and still going strong. Can't beat it for the price.

It's an extremely brittle foam and probably wouldn't endure more than a few small crashes. The nose has to be carved out a bit so the 1300mah 3s battery can be pushed forward to get the CG correct. I used a piece of coroplast and glued it in so the battery had a surface to sit in the carved out section towards the nose. I'm terribly happy with construction, but I am happy with how it flies! I got 23 minutes of flight with one battery and still was able to do goose it occasionally. This plane will basically fly itself- a great relaxing flyer, but don't expect it to last more than a crash or two.

Count a bit more than 20 minutes to mount it unless you mount three of them before.

Mount directives almost non existent and useless, delivered parts are different than showed on mounting sheet. 2-3 hours is more realistic.

ESC needs throttle calibration.

The biggest negative point is that it doesn't exist any batteries small enough to go in the batterie compartment. So you will need to cut the foam of the compartment to place a battery in it and add straps to fix it.

Live chat was helpless on that subject.
