A result of 3 years in research and development these Taiwanese manufactured 64mm EDF units are on the cutting edge of EDF design.

The duct unit is made from aircraft grade high tensile Aluminum alloy to improve performance and help reduce deformity of the duct during installation. The 8 fan blade is the first in the world to use high tensile aluminum alloy, A result of 18 months of wind-tunnel tests and Computer Aided Evaluation. The fan unit reduces high speed deformation by 90%, compared to a conventional ABS or plastic fan.

All Moto-turbine parts are manufactured using precision CNC machine tools in Taiwan. CNC machining enables a high level of acuaracy in the manufacturing proccess and ensures strict tolerances can be maintained. Each fan is also factory dynamically balanced.

In conventional ducted fan design, the motor is secured to the stator hub while the fan secured to the motor shaft.  During operation, any imperfection in either the motor or fan will cause both the fan and motor to vibrate at a certain resonance frequency.  The oscillation can cause the blade tip to rub against the shroud of the duct.  Moto-turbine’s 3-bearing system reduces resonance vibration by 90%.

This is just a great fan unit. Completely vibration free, gives a lot of thrust for a 64mm unit and the sound is quite nice too. It is also surprisingly light...

I am flying an RC Lander Hawker Hunter (retracts, flaps, 4S) with it and it is just the right choice for that plane. The only minor negative point was the lack of those mounting brackets.

PS. I will buy a 90mm 6S unit also.

This EDF unit is very good quality and very well machined, very well balanced and runs up very smoothly. The unit is extreemly light weight yet very strong, you would expect to pay a much higher price for this sort of quality. There are pre-drilled and threaded holes on the sides of the unit to attach fixings if required. The 3 bearing support configuration is very good as it supports both sides of the fan ensuring a very stable fan in the housing eliminating the risk of the blades catching the housing as some other units iv tried do at hi speed.
Highly recomend this unit for any project or upgrade.

Oh yes. The quality and reliability of this fan is one of the best. I agree with some other customers when it comes to thrust. In my opinion it is impossible to achieve figures released by the manufacturer.

Nevertheless; no chit-chat any more. (The only EDF which really gave the right numbers is The JETFAN 90 from the ejets at Austria. The sound is great too.)

I have about 25 years experience of ducted fans (all the way from Dynamax and K&B 82's) I think this 4700KV Mercury is worth of paying.

one of the greatest EDF Units out there for the money.

you better have a good battery and ESC for the 70amp draw on a 4 cell.

we are getting 130mph on a thundercat delta wing.

will be installing one of theses in a stinger next.

use this mounting fixture.

These units are absolutely awesome. Beautifully made. Balanced to perfection with no vibration throughout the whole throttle range. Have not run on test rig yet. Will post results when done this week.

This is my 3rd edf unit from the same manufacturer . My 1st and 2nd are the red version ,alloy red color, 4700kv,5 blade, with cone, also bought from hk. I believe they have replace the old unit to this new product, come with new spec of 8 blade ,with the same motor but without cone. The performance as i expected from the this manufacturer. The performance...Marvellous, very impressive! As what others people said,it worth for every penny u spent and like no others. To me its the best edf in its size. For a very serious edf flyer, its a must. My last setup on my jetiger,it can beat pusher setup on the same cell setup, 3s 45c, 4700kv edf vs 4800kv pusher. Dont be tricks by its motor size, its very small in size, with very small wire, but believe it or not it can sustain 70amp and high watt very well, not logical but its the fact., they have done their study and research. The speed, the sound, very well balance fan and motor unit, the thrust, alloy duct and fan! im sure edf flyer will appreciate it very much. Beware when using this unit,as its a very high performance unit, it will require a good esc and proper setting or it will burn your motor.. some cheap esc at certain point could not supply constant power , experienced once for the 1st unit..... at higher rpm the motor start to jerking and suddenly the motor stop and burn..... pls make sure to use the right batter

Just got this the other day for my Stinger 64. Have not installed it yet but did some runs with it and have to say its very smooth. I used a Plush60 ESC and a Nanotech 2650 4s 35c-70c(30-40 charges) pack for testing and it peaked out at 850w 66A and settled in at just under 800w and right around 60A. I did not measure the thrust but it definitely was pulling hard and the unit stayed very cool. The heat from the motor was being pulled out the rear cone very effectively and you can feel it in the exhaust. Looking forward to getting it in the air, should be a good jump in performance.

wow, something from hobbyking that finally works right. when i opened it up, felt the weight, and saw the size of the motor, my hopes instantly went way down. i thought, there's no way this will generate 1.6kg of thrust.... well i was bored, and there was leaf blowing that needed to be done. O.O damn i realized this has major thrust. I plopped in a stinger 64 with an 80A esc and a 4s 2250 nano tech 65-130c. The battery sucked, and i got to~100 mph. the battery was puffed and hot. Switched to a sky lipo 40c 2200 4s, and damn :D. 125 in a dive and easily 100 flat w/o airframe modifications. this unit is extremely quiet (way more so than 50mm edf's!) and lightweight, with an impossibly tiny motor and huge power output. just don't buy the nano techs!!!! i love it :3
