The Mini Beetle Quad features an advanced 3-axis gyro stabilization system making it quite stable yet aerobatic as well. Normally, building and setting up of a quadcopter requires lots of time, tuning and having to choose your own power system/components. The Mini Beetle Quad takes away all of the complicated setup and makes it as easy as opening the box, charging the batteries and flying!

The Mini Beetle is very capable with plenty of power to spare. It offers four different flight modes (selectable by transmitter) - 20%, 40%, 60% and 100%. In 20% mode, it's super stable flight characteristics make it stress-free for the less experienced/beginner quad pilot. Switch it up through the higher percentage modes and it becomes more and more responsive. Finally, at 100%, it is highly aerobatic and very responsive for those looking to push it to it's limits. When in 100% mode, the responsiveness is greatly increased which allows for tight flips, rolls and loops to be performed!

From basic flying to amazing quad aerobatics, the Mini Beetle can handle it all. All this and it's still small enough to fly inside the comfort of your home!

The Mini Beetle Quad comes completely ready to fly with a 2.4gHz transmitter included. The transmitter features an easy to read backlit LCD display. This package also includes the flight battery, battery charger and spare propellers.

This is a fantastic little Quad. So easy to fly. I had my wife and my father flying this around the house after one battery, having never flown before. The 20/40pcnt are great for indoors beginner training. I did find the throttle to be a bit slow to respond, which made it difficult for beginners to keep a stable hover, but after a bit of practice you get used to it. I will be buying more of these as presents for the family.

I've had mine for a couple of months now, and I'm even more impressed than I was initially. It's my best HK purchase since the superb HK 136. It's especially fun to fly on high rates outdoors. It's powerful enough to fit a 20g vidcam and still fly high, although I don't recommend any aerobatics while carrying the camera!

I use mine with my Turnigy 9X, which gives me more flexibility in setup than the stock TX, which is not to say the stock TX is bad, because actually it's excellent.

I have noticed that the recovery from flips and rolls depends quite a lot on the state of the battery - very good when the battery is fresh, but falls off half way through the flight time. I think the recovery must draw a high current. I've ordered some of the nano tech 600mAh batteries, hoping that they will handle the high current drain better than the stock battery and the 600mAh Towers I am using.

Got mine from a different source as it was not available at HK - will definately buy another one when it is back in stock.

Great little quad - and the best is... you can bind it to the Turnigy 9X transmitter (V2). Just plug the battery on the quad - turn on the 9X while holding bind button, turn 9X off after a few seconds, turn it on and - voila. To rebind it to the stock transmitter - just turn quad on, transmitter on - wait a few seconds - turn transmitter off and on again - and you are done.

I run a modded 9X with ER9 firmware and programmed mine for the 3-step flight phase button.

On the other hand - you can use the stock transmitter with the 8 channel 9X receivers ;-)

I like my bug much more since I can fly it with a "real" transmitter.

This is GREAT VALUE!!!! Loads of fun for practicing basic maneuvres inside when it's horrible out. Stabilise I find doesn't work as sharp as the Ladybird, tending to pendulum especially after a flip/roll, but at a quarter of the price, who cares? Perfect for those entering the field of multicopters, cheap and VERY resilient.

Ciao

Mine arrived today, only 10 days after I ordered it. Well done HK. Box had been turned inside out, so it didn't have to be wrapped, which is ingenious. Very well packed, quadcopter was held down within by two ties, and it would have had to have been grossly mishandled to get any damage.

I've never flown a multi rotor before, but within a few minutes both my son and I could control it. We have experience with the HK 136 and 190 micro helis. The documentation was a little short on how to change the flight modes, but it's very simple, it just toggles through the options when you press the silver button on the top left of the Tx. We have used the 20, 40 and 60pcnt modes indoors. When the wind is not a gale I will try the 100pcnt outdoors.

The manual is for the mode 2 version, doesn't cover Mode 1, but it wasn't a problem, we worked it out. Strangely, our TX said Mode 2 in the display but it wasn't.

The battery drives it well, plenty of power, and when I used my charger to charge it reported putting over the claimed 500mAh into it.

Very good product, going to have a lot of fun with it.
