Following on from our super popular original Mini Fabrikator comes the Mini Fabrikator V2 with a bunch of new features that will blow you away.
The first thing to notice about the Mini Fabrikator V2 is its rock-solid aluminium case, this may seem like overkill on a printer this size but it does offer a huge benefit in that a stable printer is an accurate printer and you simply won't find a more precise printer in this price range. The print detail on this machine is astounding and it is the same print after print after print.
Print quality isn't the only fantastic feature in this printer, it also has a heated 100mmx100mm print bed that will allow you to print in ABS and PETG, in fact most rigid filaments that require a heated bed will print well on the Mini Fabrikator V2. The bed also comes pre-prepared with a black PEI tape that not only ensures your first layer sticks everytime but does it many, many times over (it will eventually wear out so we do sell spares).
These features alone would make for a great value printer, but we wanted more, so we added three different methods of uploading gcode files:
- You can have a dedicated USB link to your computer
- You can upload directly from a microSD card
- You can upload files and control your printer directly via Wi-Fi and a web interface using Repetier Host
On top of all these great features the Mini Fabrikator comes at a price that makes it suitable for first timers, students or seasoned 3D printers who want a quality secondary printer for smaller jobs. Now remember this is a desktop mini printer so you aren't going to print a giant Saturn rocket replica on it, but it is a great size for all the little widgets and gadgets that make 3D printing fun and accessible for everyone.
The Mini Fabrikator V2 has taken a good thing and made it great!
PLEASE NOTE THAT DUE TO MANUFACTURING ISSUES BEYOND OUR CONTROL WE ARE NOT ABLE TO CONTINUE SUPPLYING THIS PRINTER IN BLUE, SO ONCE THE CURRENT STOCK IS SOLD OUT IT WILL ONLY BE AVAILABLE IN SILVER. THE PRINTER ITSELF IS IDENTICAL, JUST A DIFFERENT COLOUR.

I am considering buying a second one... so tiny, so awesome.
only gripes is the default file it comes with is tall and printed on a raft so it will never ever have a chance of sticking to any buildsurface, and the printer has some z wobble. Probably fixable with a helical shaft coupling.
The build surface is working out really well. I am used to PVA on glass. this is much less messy!
I plan to upgrade to e3d and duet electronics.... but it prints out of the box so I haven't done any of that yet!
I have been impressed by the power supply also. Really this thing is legit.I have two 3D printers already,so I'm used to the trial and error that's involved in setting one up. This one was no different. If there is such a thing and an out of the box ready to go 3D printer, I haven't found it yet, but this one was very close. This printer is very solid and well built, but the bed had to be leveled and I have to do some tweaking on the Start and End G-codes to get it to print correctly. The guide tube is nice and does a good job, also the spool on the back is very convenient, although with a full roll it feels like it wouldn't' take much effort for the printer to want to tilt backwards. Also, after a few prints I decided to install a glass plate on the bed, as I have done with my other printers, which makes it much easier to remove a print and go on to the next one without having to constantly keep changing out the Blue Tape. Since this printer doesn't have an adjustable Z-stop screw, I had to design, print up, and install a shim the same thickness as the glass, right above where the Z-stop switch strikes the Z-carriage. Now, a little shot of hairspray and I'm ready to print. Also, I got a few 4"x4" glass squares cut by my local hardware store and I can just un-clip the glass plate and put a new one on to keep printing. Due to clearance between the moving bed and the lower frame, I had to use the smallest binder clip available. I haven't tried printing from the SD card or from Wifi yet. It's a nice little compact printer and anyone that is familiar with using Repetier should have no problem getting it going. I will try to upload the G-codes that I used for anyone that might need them.
