Works well...but...the piston is too small for illustration purposes. The inlet to pour water into the glass bowl should be separate from the outlet tube....maybe a manually operated whistle could be used as a stopper on the water inlet...thus on top of the boiler would be two items...1. The outlet tube to the piston and 2. The water refill hole with a whistle.

Mine arrived this morning, similar to the Midwest Heritage oscillator
and 0.7cc displacement. liberally oiled everything with light
machine oil, metho in the tank and filled the boiler.

Ran like a dream.

Now to make up a displacement steam oiler for it and maybe later
use it (motor) in a small Midwest boat.

Very happy with the purchase,

First, it is my first steam engine. It is really nice looking, but quality could be better. It is clearly noticable, that piston in cylinder is not moving freely. But I easily found position where there is least friction. And thats what this is about. I would be disappointed, if I could not enhance it by myself. I am using ethanol and works just fine. Works for max 5minutes at one time.

What I like the most, is how slow it moves. I can easily see the phases. And the sound is wonderfull. (see video lower)
- I am missing a whistle.

Mine came with a broken boiler.. too bad, I was so exited to steam it :(

anyway, I tryed various glass bottle, and finally found one that fits.

There are many improvement to do for having a 2 or 3 minutes run.

At first, I didn't understand why the video was a 5 seconds long, now I know.

For a such quality, 75-80 USD would be a better price range.

But I love those kind of products (allready have 2 stirling engines) and I'm really happy to work on it, find some new brass pieces and make it go better..
