The engine looks very nice, but is a bit roughly finished inside.
The front bearing was leaking, no big deal, I fixed this by putting some sealing behind the front bearing. The first starts were very difficult, it needed excessive swinging from my electric starter, but after a few houres of bench running it got better.
The compression gets better can finally hand start it now.
Maybe worth noticing, the silencer does not silence anything :-) , but that is no different than other brands.The engine is well made.
At this price I can not get better.
I can not wait to prop it up my Kawasaki Ki-61 Hien 1/5.hi purchased this engine in January I have just tried starting it and it will not suck fuel up to the carb as any one any idea what to do many thanks"half yearly sale" unbeatable price nice product.I do not like writing a bad review but I have a 35cc engine I can not use without making the model very ugly. What I mean by that is, the engine itself is a great looking engine and runs very well upright (so worth the money and the support is great with Hobbyking). But as 90pcnt of us modelers mount engines inverted (upside down) in the cowl to hide them, this engine refuses to run inverted. mounted upright on the bench for break in, it ran great. But once mounted on the plane it refuses to start or run. I sent them a video with the set up IE-fuel tank position,fuel line routing,etc which was correct and My attempt to start it but never heard back on a solution ? The first engine arrived damaged and they replaced it without any grief. Kudos to them. I am going to end up mounting on a different plane to make use of it with the head sticking out the top sadly. PS I have engines from DA and others that run great inverted, it's not an incorrect install.My motor had ignition set way too far advanced out of the box 42deg, giving misfire throughout the rev range,retarded sensor to max retard fixed it after several plug changes and CDI box change. Muffler came loose after a few flights even though I loctited bolts,needed to be torqued when motor was hot. All in all a powerful motor with flexible mounting options and genuine Walbro carb.Awesome quality in construction. Looks great. Very good manual, better than most product manuals in the industry. Can't wait to install and run it.great motor runs well straight out of the box. Easy to hand start when installed upright but needs fuel priming when upside down. The exhust is nicely designed and hasnt come loose. Love the carby being mounted up front a lot easyer to set up throttle linkages compared to rear carb motors.
