Turnigy Ni-ZN (Nickel-Zinc) batteries offer high voltage and excellent cycle life when compared with Ni-CD/Ni-MH batteries.

This 3 cell reciever pack produces 4.8V nominal voltage making it perfect for replacing standard 4 cell Ni-CD/Ni-MH receiver packs. This not only saves weight but also space inside your model.

The nominal voltage of these Turnigy Ni-ZN cells is 1.6V compared to that of only 1.2V with Ni-CD/Ni-MH. This means more power for your device and longer usable capacity. Our Ni-ZN cells provide on average 50% more usable capacity per cycle compared to a standard Ni-CD/Ni-MH cell of the same rated capacity.

Specifications:
Capacity: 1500mAh
Voltage: 4.8V
Chemistry: Ni-ZN High Voltage
Weight: 78g
Dimensions: 52x43x15mm
Discharge Plug: JR

*Note: When charging these Ni-ZN cells, set your charger to Ni-CD/Ni-MH mode using CV (constant voltage) charge function. Set the cutoff voltage to 1.9V per cell.

We guarantee our cells are true to their capacity!
Sadly battery marketing is an evil game, with overstated capacity being the industry norm. Generally speaking, battery factories will suggest vendors to overstate the capacity by at least 30%, marking 1800mAh cells with 2300mAh labels or more!
While this might work for toy stores, such marketing tactics wouldnt survive 1 week in our store with customer feedbacks and reviews, and thats why we guarantee our TURNIGY 1500mAh Ni-ZN cells to be at least 1500mAh!

Very lite and unconventional battery pack. I use it for my transmitter and it is doing very good. After around ten cycles it still reaches 100pcnt capacity. This NiZn battery should be charged like a 4 cell NiMH. I know no charger with a NiZn program... if you know, let me know ;)

I've been using this pack for about 6 months as a quick and easy 5v source for Arduino's and other small microcontrollers. I have discharged these packs down to 0v cell voltage quite a few times with no apparant loss of capacity. Charging is done by setting a variable output power supply to 5.7v current limited to 1A. I cut power to the cell when current draw is down to about 50ma. This may not be the correct way to charge these cells, but i am still getting ~1600mah after around 30 charge cycles as measured on an eco-6-10 Hobbyking 200w balance charger (1/10C discharge).
Unusual charging method aside, these packs are great for hobby electronics, very reliable, great value. Recommended!

Lost half the capacity after 5 cycles. I'm seeing other reviews with the same results. Oh well. I'll stick with the the NiMh low self discharge from HobbyKing for now.

Charge on NiMh mode with 7mV delta V peak detect. Discharged to 1.3V per cell. Charged at 300mA and discharged at 1.4A. After 3 cycles the capacity dropped to 1100mAh. After 5th cycle I was down to 800mAh. They seem to peak detect OK but still lose capacity after every cycle. Too bad as I got excited about having a 1.6V battery. Oh well! I tested the AA 3 cell receiver packs rated for 1500mAh capacity.

Initially I was pleased with the weight saving and could charge 1300 MAh in the pack. Then I did a charge/discharge cycle test and after 6 cycles I could only charge 300 MAh in it. I then concluded the pack had died.
Charge cycle was to 5,7 Volt (Fluke volt meter). Discharge was to 3,6 Volt at 0,5 Ampere discharge current
