I do NOT suggest this motor for a fixed wing plane!!!
The 3 pole configuration make it accelerate very very very slowly, initially I thought that the esc is faulty... also try to change timing since the auto does not work very well in some controllers (2-3Amps more). Keep in mind that "big" size props are needed in order to give sufficient thrust or airspeed (other 1000kV motor need significantly smaller props). Fitting a "huge" 11/7 or 12/6 is the way to go on 3s, but you only get 14-15A.
Disappointing performance on a Hobbyking /Hyperion ENIGMA the plane was flyable but did not have the speed/power for maneuvers, or to handle windy conditions.
On the other hand built quality is good, total weight including prop and base mount is 101gr
Maybe in a multirotor this motor will give better results...

I'm using this one for my Dragonfly 1800 with stock propeller, works great and power is plenty with 3S.

I to have used this motor with a Phoenix 2000 glider 225 watts using a 10/6 prop motor does get warm but really pulls the glider around so I going use sub-trim to cut the throttle back a tad to under 200 watts using my watt meter.Very happy with this motor worked out of the box.

No way to attach propeller, completely useless!

Looks like a prop hub could be bolted on, shame it wasn't included with the motor. Swapped shaft around, no good.

purchased two of these first one on test bed with 11x7 prop would not go above 1/3 revs before shutting down. tested speed controller on another motor works fine. will spin up a smaller ie 9x5 no problem. Second motor was tested in the same way a about 1/3 revs the whole motor shot apart breaking the shaft. Either the clip on the back came off or it was missing in the first place fitted new shaft it will run but very rough indicating to me it shot a bearing coming apart. In the throws of sending them back or throwing them in the bin and consider lesson learnt.

Purchased two of these motors, the 1000kv and a 1400kv for a 2 meter glider. The ratings are a bit overstated, try it and find out the hard way. Hot motors melting insulation, etc. But my biggest gripe is the bearings and end float. The 1000kv on test sheared it's shaft due to vibration at half throttle the prop narrowingly missing my face. Replaced the motor with 1400kv version. Vibration again. Changed folding prop set up to verify what was causing the problem. Definitely the motor. No impressed and wasting my time. Have since purchased Turnigy 28mm XP series. Hopefully these will perform.

Bought this for my Phoenix 2000 glider. Using the stock 10x6 prop, blueseries 30A ESC and 1500 3S battery I got the following results;

22 Amps

11.4 Volts

250 Watts

A bit high on the amps and the motor does get quite hot but it performs well and propels the glider with ease.
