Nylon Blind Nut 1/4"

Oct 26, 2017

This is 1/4"- 20 nylon nut plate for 1/4" nylon wing bolt, you can fit M6 bolt too which is bit easier and chance of over tighten. This small gadgets makes wings fitting very easy, I really hate rubber band system. Unbeatable price from HobbyKing and totally recommended product for model aircraft builders.

1/4x20 thread

Nov 11, 2016

This nylon nut plate is threaded for a 1/4 x 20 wing bolt. I tried a Dubro wing bolt and it fits perfectly. You can also order its partner wing bolt from Hobbyking which comes in a pack of 10 pcs. I prefer a coarser thread for nylon wing bolts as they provide a more secure connection compared to the fine thread of a metric 6mm bolt which is much easier to over-tighten.

1/4x20 thread

Nov 10, 2016

The product description is wrong. Just by visually checking it is apparent that the threads are too coarse to be for a metric bolt. I tried a Dubro 1/4x20 nylon wing bolt and it fits this nut plate perfectly. You can also order the corresponding wing bolt from Hobbyking.

Good product - incorrect specs.

These are tapped SAE 1/4 x 20, not M6.

This nut is not M6. All M6 screws (metal or nylon) will slip out. Beware before embedding in any construction or you ll have to rip the whole thing apart.

Fellow HobbyKing customers read reviews before ordering this can save you disappointment when you receive items like these. I would like to urge Hobbyking to share the risk when items ordered does not conform to specifications: like on investigation into our claims, to at least refund in points half the value. The cost to return and resend is more than the values of the items. This is the first HobbyKing product that I have got a problem with. Although I have given this only 1 crown the quality is not that bad except that it is not M6 as stated. The thread on these nuts is approximately M7.

I have made a plan with these nuts by heating it with a heatgun to about 120 degrees C and squeeze it square with two sets of pliers until it cooled down. One small combination plier horisontal and a stubby long nose vertical in the gap of the other pliers. At least it will hold a light load secure.

I've bought 2 packs (8 pcs total), only 3 of them can hold itself on a M6 bolt, others just slide out. Totally useless.

A little bit shoddy this one. Still burrs left over from drill/tapping the bolt hole. Surprisingly this did not fit the 6mmx40mm bolt sold here on hobby king. A big disappointment for me, but I may have ordered the wrong bolt for this nut.
