OLEO STRUT SET - ЯК 9 / MIG 3 / МАККИ - 46 РАЗМЕР

Nov 10, 2019

Cool landing gear. Very repetitive, suitable for aircraft with a wingspan of 1400mm to 1800mm. But their only drawback is their weight. A bit heavy weight.

I have fitted these to my OS 55 powered Yak 9.
Great gear for the VQ War-bird series. These are made for the VQ ARF's & with some minor engineering and care in installation, will provide a great alternative to that provided with the VQ kits. Not for the beginner as mounting U/C doors & servo-less retracts can be a bit tricky. Grub screw holes are not a problem as there is plenty of meat in the leg to take it out to the next size grub screw should it strip. Cutting flats an the pins with your dremel or dimpling holes for the grub screw to sit in as recommended also helps.
I look forward to getting more for the other VQ ARF's I have waiting to be built.

Bought these for my Yak 9, and while they fit quite well they are not engineered very well, being quite loose and sloppy. I also found that one of the axle grub screws had a stripped thread. Some quality control problems here, I think.

These struts look really nice but they are of really poor quality metal and construction. The metal center piece began to shake and eventually cracked after about ten landings. My field is paved so this should not have happened at all even if I made a few rough landings.

Very good quality it's seems to be made by Robart or it's very similar. I' will use it in my Tucano T -27 frow Juniaer (Brazil) www.juniaer.com.br it fits well!
