quannum 36-55

Nov 14, 2007

Excellent motor! I use it in a 1/8.5 scale Mig 3 with a 3s pack and replaced an old ultra 900 on 8 cells with it. Weight went down and performance jumped forward! 460Watt peak, +/- 420 mid flight, turning an 8.5 x 7 prop. Everything stays cool, no heating problems at all. I'll defenitely buy another one for my next warbird!

Brushless Super-Sportster EP

Nov 14, 2007

This motor makes it easy to have a brushless GP Super Sportster EP by just adding spacers and bolting it in. With a 10 inch prop on 3 good cells it will go straight up in near silence and flys good at half power. It's a great combination.

Quannum Drive 36-55

Nov 14, 2007

This is a great motor for direct drive replacement of 600 class brushed motors. It will fit right in the clamshell mounts for that motor. Power is awesome! I was getting right at 450 watts static with an APC 10x7E and 3S battery. I went down to an APC 9x5E for about 350 watts static. This will make a 2-3 lb plane jump off the ground with plenty of power. Highly recommend.

Good Cooling

Nov 14, 2007

Great motor with good air cooling circuit.

Open circuit current at 24v was 2.28A. In our application, it could run continuously on 7S LiPos, drawing 43.5A, 1.06 kW, spinning at 29200 rpm.

Quannum drive 36-70 5mm

Nov 14, 2007

I ordered the Quannum drive 36-55 5mm and received the Quannum drive 36-70 5mm, along with a H-Wing Pentium 60 amp ESC. with The Quannum drive 36-70 drew only 32 amps with 12x6 prop, so I moved up to 13x6 APC e-prop and 6 AH Emoli 3S2P to fly my 40 size 50 inch Se5a biplane fly with good power for approximately 10 min.

Good value - but not for a Swi

Nov 14, 2007

I hoped this motor would be a good option for a Century Swift. On 4S and a 9T pinion, performance is pretty weak. On 5S and 9T it had approx 2000RPM headpseed and excellent performance. However, this is pushing the motor to hard. It exceeded 200F in just a couple of minutes. I have no doubts that this will be a good motor in many airplane applications, but it isn't a good match for the Swift.

Using this motor in a 500 size helicopter, very powerful and quiet, highly recommended.
