Boasting full GPS functionality such as position holding, return to home and even full GPS waypoint flying, this is a professional level multi-rotor aircraft in an easy to use, ready to fly package that anyone can fly. The Quanum Nova was developed with one primary goal in mind - providing our customers with a simple, user friendly drone capable of proffessional level flight performance. This goal has been realized. Now you have the perfect machine for carrying your GoPro or other similar sized action cameras for shooting awesome aerial video!

When it comes to ease of use, the Nova is at the top of the list. Arriving fully tuned and setup, you simply need to install the landing gear and props, charge the battery and fly. It's that easy. For more advanced users or as your skills progress, you can connect the Nova to MAVLink compatible software such as Mission Planner or others, allowing access to a whole host of programming options including selectable flight modes, GPS waypoint functionality, advanced tuning and so much more!

The Nova features a beautifully molded plastic body which not only offers good looks, it provides durability and is extremely light weight. The lower body shell of the Nova integrates bright LED lights, green in the front arms and red in the rear, making orientation easy in both day and night flying. Additionally, there are two large status indicator LEDs at the rear which show the current status, such as GPS signal and battery condition.

Aerial video is where it's at and the Nova is just the model for it. The Nova is directly compatible with our Quanum Q-2D brushless GoPro gimbal, providing direct fit mounting. Simply bolt-on the Q-2D and connect it to the integrated gimbal control plugs on the bottom of the Nova. The on-board connections provide power, tilt and roll functions for the Q-2D gimbal. There is also a very convenient mini USB connection for connecting the Nova to your PC.

Good product let down as usual by the laughably named customer service, HK are truly CRAP at helping once they have had you money. They wanted a photo of the item that was missing!!!!! Probably best to got to another company and pay a bit more and receive support, cheapdronecouk, slow but honest

Excellent quadcopter for the price. Not quite so stable in GPS position hold as my friend's Phantom 2 but then the phantom is more than twice the price. Flown mine in 15mph winds no problem. Take your time to calibrate properly, there are plenty of YouTube videos describing different methods. If you need spares, internet info, it's a re-badged Cheerson CX-20 for which more info exists. The Turnigy Go-Pro style camera fits and works well under this and the quad lifts if fine. For spare batteries look at the Zippy Flightmax 2800's which although slightly larger will fit in the case. Instructions are thin, covering only the basics, and no mention is made of how to set up for waypoint, navigation, so that will have to be from internet research. Starting point is to download Ardupilot Mission Planner - that's as far as I have got. Pulls about 280watts at full throttle at around 26 amps.

If I judge this on the price point it cannot be faulted.I paid substantiallyt less than it's advertised at currently so got a massively good deal. What I saved has paid for a case and a pair of upgraded batteries, when they arrive in stock. It's only been hovering out back so far but did so automatically in gusty 10-15 mph winds in a very enclosed environment.I'm off to the field for a proper full battery test this afternoon and will report back any problems I managed to provoke. So far I'm delighted with my Nova.

Within the first hour of owning a Quanum Nova the flight controller died. To be accurate; the gyro / accelerometer died, which rendered the unit unusable. To add to my thoughts on how poor the quality of the Nova is, there was a wire loose inside the case (had broken off / not been soldered properly), one of the motors either looked used or was rubbing against the side of the case and the GPS was loose inside the case.

I would not recommend this product! Build your own Quad from scratch and have more fun!

Also what has been grinding my gears is that Hobbyking has not responded to my RMA; even after a month has gone by. Come on Hobbyking, sort it out!
