This little guy absolutely rocks. Instruction manual is fairly useless so as in previous reviews, make sure you attach the elevator z bend to the elevator before glueing on rear section. Running mine on 30A Turnigy Plush, 6x4 prop, standard Funfighter outrunner on a 1300 4S
Great as a 'blank canvas' as I chose a similar Eflite Rarebear colour scheme which makes it easier to keep track of as this thing is SUPER fast but equally incredibly stable. Maiden was fairly uneventful with only a few clicks of up trim on the elevator requires. As previously stated the ribbed section in the battery compartment needs to be removed to accomodate the 4S & speedy alongside, CG worked out pretty spot on with the AR400 receiver tucked on top of the carbon spar joint. Chose to use trusty HXT 900 servos on the ailerons and a metal gear equivalent on the elevator. I also did away with the rather cheesy supplied control horns and fitted the clamping type which are screwed through the surface and glued also, far stronger!Draws roughly 23Amp full noise.
Put simply, if you don't have one, get one as the Rarebear is awesome
I don't understand why the whole Funfighter series are not available throughout all the HK warehouses.

I haven't flown it yet, however, I got this plane in the mail 3 days after ordering it, and it's exactly what I expected. It feels sturdy. Although built somewhat careless (ie large blobs of glue on the carbon wingspar, inside the fuse), it's fine. The supplied linkeage has some backlash, which isn't too bad for my purpose.

I bought this plane as a fun/dogfighter with a high probability of midair collissions and such.

Built it with old stuff I had lying around. The setup:
2x Graupner C261 on ailerons (8 grams micro)
1x Hitec HS-81 on elevator (19 grams, so too heavy, too strong, but only thing I had spare)
Robbe Roxy 35A Brushless ESC
Orange FASST receiver
Hacker Eco-X 900mAh 24C

I was really surprised to see the AUW (including battery): 347 grams. Only 2 gram above specification! Also, the CG was spot-on without any adjustmends needed.

Although the engine doesn't seem to pull hard statically, we'll see how she handles in the air.

Al in all a nice little kit. If you are more serious about performance, I would advice using different linkage.

It can be glued using ZAP medium CA and kicker.

I fly mine with a 40A ESC and (for now) the motor off a RadJet800 as the kit came with a broken motor. It was blocked by something, I took it apart and found blue glue (magnet?)resin in abundance. I tried to get this out as good as it gets but it was way out of balance afterwards. Ordered a new motor. Even with the 1850kV RadJet motor it goes very very fast on a 4S 1000mAh lipo. Only 3 min of fun before its all empty. It tends to make the standard prop oscillate (screaming), maybe I will need to fit a stiffer prop someday.
You better paint your 'Bear in bright colours or you will not be able to see where it goes at speed.
Only 4 stars because of the motor, but an awesome and fun plane!

These are very good value for money there is at least 10 members in our club that use the fun fighters so it's like wacky races...quite easy to repair with cyno when we collide as we often do.

Great plane that tracks incredibly fast and straight. Having the choice of a colour scheme is a great idea. Still, spares and a decal set should be offered too. The manual should have a hint to attach the elevator clevis before gluing the vertical fin :) 4 stars for quality because of the many nips and dents in the foam and the need to sand and shape to make the canopy fit. Also the diagonal foam bits in the battery compartment are just in the way and needed to be cut out. The listed CG of 30mm sounds nose heavy. Mine flies just fine with 45mm CG. Also the propellers need balancing. This would probably save the motor mount from rattling loose. Control horns could be a better system. Would I buy it again? YES!

Awesome piece of kit. Fast and stable even in a high crosswind condition. The hardware pack leaves a bit to be desired though. But definately worth a purchase

Nice, not very cheap (cause there is nothing in it but the motor).

Used Turnigy Servos, HK 30A ESC, and Orange RX.

Crashed it in maiden flight. Now it is gone forever :(

Not recommended for beginners.

Spare parts not available (would need the wings, one wing is still somewhere over in the trees).

After all I think, this kit should be ok, but the price is rather high for Hobbyking.

Echt een fijn snelheids monstertje heb er nu al 3 gekocht omdat ik ze gewoon opvlieg
Geen aanrader voor beginners maar voor gevorderden vliegers ,als je hem in gaat vliegen doe dat dan op 3s hij is heel gevoelig op alle uitslagen dus maak deze niet te groot echt minimaal houden als je aan het kistje gewend ben gooi dan maar eens een 4s erin en wees klaar voor hoge snelheden
