Utilizing a single high precision 3-axis MEMS gyro, the OrangeRX 3-Axis Flight Stabilizer is capable of stabilizing flight on just about any fixed wing aircraft! It provides added stability by automatically correcting the aileron, elevator and rudder channels in flight. This compensates for unwanted changes in the airplane's attitude due to wind and other factors. In short, it makes your airplane much more stable in flight!

The OrangeRX 3-Axis Flight Stabilizer is great for those who tend to fly in windy conditions, as it will compensate for wind gusts that would normally push your model around. It's also an ideal add-on to your favorite FPV model to keep it on the straight and level while flying.

This unit is very simple to install and use. The adjustable gain settings are pre-set to 50% offering mild stabilization. You can easily adjust the gain for each channel as desired to increase or decrease the compensation for the respective channel (AIL, ELE, RUD).

Because we design, test and manufacture these units completely in-house (from 3D/2D drawing to materials sourcing, final assembly etc.) we can completely control production and ensure product consistency from design right through to shipping the product to you. Also, the removal of middle-men has meant we can drive better value to the market and retail these units at factory(our) prices!

Features:
Capable of stabilizing flight on just about any fixed wing aircraft
Supports 3D flight without undermining stability
Independent gyro gain adjustment for aileron, elevator and rudder
Easy-to-access gyro reversing switches on front of unit
Compact and light weight design

Great gyro, cheaper than buying 3 individual gyros and works better. I haven't had any flutter with it unlike some other gyros. It is very easy to set up using the pots. I mounted it on a gyro pad to reduce vibrations.

This is the only Hobby King product I have ever given a 5 crown rating. I bought three of these because the price was good but i was very surprised at how well they worked. I put the first one in a Bixler for experimental purposes and found that once you get it set up correctly the airplane becomes almost unconditionally stable in any wind. It does take a little time and effort to adjust the gain settings and they are not the same. I have more gain on the rudder than the ailerons and a bit more still on the elevator but when I put the Bixler in level flight it will maintain level flight. These are not an auto pilot but they actually work and are very good if you fly in wind the way I do. Thumbs up.

Excellent value, have 6 of these, some I am useing the 5v bec in the speed controllers and 2 i am using them coupled direct to a zippy Life 1100ma 6.6v rx batt, i do not know the voltage tolerances but presumed they would expect you could run them in conjunction with their own range of receivers, have had over 20 fiights on this set up and it has performed faultlessly, certainly makes you look a better pilot than what you actually are, one thing i know is when most have packed up because of windy conditions i am able to keep flying and i am only a very average pilot, only time will tell if i am running too high a voltage with the 6.6 volt but until then i am having alot of fun

I never imagined flying in strong winds but my friend encouraged me to try. Not a pleasant experience. I bought this stabilizer to aid my flights. Initially i almost crashed had no clue how it worked. Now i have a good understanding and fly in very strong winds with hands off the radio. Cross wind landings are fun, crabbed all the way with hands off the radio and even touch down crabbed...lol

Just change the attitudes and it holds. I mostly use rudder and elevator and the plane flies fine.

Only thing bothering me was during no wind days had to manually disconnect the stabilizer else not fun. But with the V2 this is also resolved, already ordered the day it came in stock. Just waiting for it to come.

I bought 2 and I'm impressed by the design. One of the dip switches didn't work on the rudder, so I put that one in my little beater jet, the other one works fine. I need a few more and see there is a V2 for 3 dollars more, I think I will try the new one and a megapirate flight controller for my FPV. I have also use head lock gyro's with real time gain but you need 3 to do the same job....you do the math, lol.

The stabilizer is quite easy to install and logical to use. However, i am Not Super happy with the single aileron channel. There are ways to use it - but I do not like it !

I tried it on my supercub LP with park 480 in winds 20-25 knots. It was fun. Initially took a while to get the hang of it but after that its been fun fun fun... I do not use aileron option and use only rudder (90pcnt gain) & elevator (75pcnt). Just set your attitude and the plane stays there. I do my approach in strong winds without even touching the controls. Its so much fun. Now i have ordered the newer model with remote option to switch it off.

While I wish there was more on HK's website about the technical aspects of this flight stabilizer, I have to admit that it is great in the wind. I was able to float my Bixler in 40 mph winds and thanks to this stabilizer, I had to do very little inputs on my transmitter.

Does a good job for aerial photography, the main reason I bought it. Would be 5 crowns if more documentation was available.
