The Sbach 342 has been nothing short of a sensation since it's arrival on the aerobatic scene, Philip Steinbach's masterpeice manages to combine aggressive yet graceful lines with a modern look, that has caught the imagination of aviation enthusiasts the world over. Performance is of course, what cutting edge aerobatic aircraft are about, and it is ironic that the Sbach 342 was designed specifically to mimic model 3D aircraft capability.

The Hobbyking Sbach 342 is a looker, no doubt about that and the more you look at the detail the more the "wow" factor of this model really hits home. The size of the control surfaces grab your attention straight away, this is built for 3D/precision aerobatics, then look at the hardware, the pushrods using ball-links all round, pull/pull rudder confirm the initial impression. The amazing, ultra high quality construction gives stength combined with light-weight, another essential precision aerobatic box ticked!

This model has been superbly thought out and designed, other features worthy of a mention are the composite/ply motor mount & under-carriage mount, the extensive hardware kit that is included, the rubber mounted cowl, the carbon fibre wing tube, the canopy secured by a latch AND magnets and so on, the Hobbyking Sbach 342 is stunning combination of scale detail, high quality workmanship, high quality components and out and out performance.

Schn gebautes Modell. Doppelt verpackt, gut gebgelt. Kleber ist ueberall da, wo er hingehoert. Zubehoer ist komplett und hochwertig. Aber es gibt auch Kritik.
Fluggewicht 600-650 Gramm ist sehr optimistisch. Mein Modell wiegt leer 650 Gramm!

With Turnigy 3536/6 motor, Turnigy 45a esc, 10x5prop and nanotech 3300mah 4s doing basic flying quite well. Having sooo much power and climbing up vertically fastly. Covering film/glue didn't like cold winter and now wrinkled slightly everywhere. Motor mount needed new holes for 36 size motor.

Plane is nice looking and flyes great. I had no issue with tail heavy as many reviwers have complained. Used a 36 size motor with 40A ESC mounted at front and a 2600 4 S battery pushed all the way up front, almost touching the motor. Balance was perfect - just a little elevator trim needed and plane flew great excpet my ESC failed resulting in a crash landing. Not too serious. The motor mount had to be modified a bit to fit motor and by the way the carbon fiber motor mount is not carbon fiber -only some kind of black fiber. Also landing gear is aluminum - not very strong so I changed to carbon fiber gear 125 mm bought here. Nice plane, truly price worthy.

Ok, after reading lots of reviews about how tail heavy this plane is and going into damage control after buying it, I can't say I'm unhappy. In fact, I'm pleasantly surprised. The build quality seems reasonable for the price but yes, it is a little tail heavy and heavy generally. My work around is to use a larger than normal size battery for this size plane and no problems. Slow handling is fine so not overloaded. It has had 2 successful flights with the only real issue being that the horiz stab is a little twisted so vertical lines are slightly skewed. I'll fix this so not worried too much. Generally, I am a happy buyer especially after the initial panic. The batteries I used are Hyperion 2500 3s, motor is a D2836 pushing a 10x5 prop. ESC is 30A hyperion, Servos are HXT 900. I get approx 9 minutes of aero flying on this. !NOTE: This is not a 3d machine! It tracks very well (other than tail twist), rolls are close to perfect and quite quick, inverted is very close to perfect straight. I will use this for park practice precision aeros. Thanks, and don't be too put off by the general tail heavy comments, fixable and useable without mods.

I have bought this, very nice and beautiful plane but plz do not order any of the recommended motor for this, bcoz its a tail heavy model, I put it in Park-450 Turnigy motor and it was flying really sluggish, now i am putting in E-MAX GT2820/6 the heavy duty one hope it fly well on it.
