The Hobbyking Shark is a high performance hybrid glider/pylon racer with distinctive F3A styling that offers high speed thrills for low speed money and amazingly for a composite high performance speed machine, it is Plug N Fly so all the hard work is done.

The airframe is composed of a Fiberglass fuselage AND wing, which is a removable 1pc item, only the horizontal stabilizer/elevator are balsa. The finish is quite superb and durable, there is no doubt, it looks fast, which is just as well, it IS fast! A model this quick needs to be well built and no corners have been cut, aileron's are "live" hinged, high torque 9g servo's have been pre-fitted throughout & all the included hardware is sturdy and good quality for reliability and performance.

The pre-fitted brushless inrunner motor has plenty of power and coupled with such a slippery air frame, huge grins are going to be the order of the day at your field. The prop and a spare are included as is the quality alloy spinner, so your radio, a lipoly and a couple of hours work at the most are all that stands between you and some high speed action. The Hobbyking Shark racer offers an unbeatable combination of low price, quality, good looks, practicality, ease of assembly, durability and of course awesome performance, it's a must for speed freaks!

Arrived with firewall brokeaway, wing joint line in bad finishing ( upper/lower parts ).

Maiden flight lasts only one minute, motor problems due ESC overheating.

ESC burned after 3 flights.

Aileron trimming awful due to wing washout assimetric incidence.

Do not worth your money ....

I strongly recommend you when you buy this airplane to buy a landing gear as well.
Like this plane is a low wing and fast flying that will avoid dents on the wing and propeller. Don't forget the thumb if you think this an useful advise...

Had some bad luck with my delivery. Wing was broken, motor mount glued distortedly and wing didn't fit entirely with the body. During maiden, aileron horn got loose and elevator centre broke down.

Now wing is fixed using fiberglass cloth, motor mount attached again, both ailerons glued and support bar added to the elevator both sides.

Body quality was good, wing paintings not. But... look at the price. All electronics worked well and speed was enough for me.

My flying video is here: http://youtu.be/Zheih4Hi0Ls

I maidened mine yesterday and I agree to the earlier "speakers" about the weak mtrl in the elevator. I will replace mine....

I also had a big grin on my face during the whole flight....it was a high "WOW" factor...I used a 3c2200mah lipo.

Has anybody switched the propeller to a larger one?...what speeds are we talking on this baby?

Well guys, I can really recommend this baby, lots of value for the low bucks...get m while they last!!

Ok to start off ordered this bird a few weeks ago just got it today shipping was slow but hey what do you expect it is coming from Hong Kong. All the included equipment motor, servos, ESC are top notch. Servos center well motor stays cool in flight everything electronically is great. I personally swapped out the 30amp esc for a 54amp so i could go 4cell if i wanted to. The plane is beautiful, the fiberglass body really catches the eye of your flying buddies at the field. There are a few defects i noticed however the wing does not fit absolutely flush with the fuse there is a tiny 2mm gap at most and is only notice able up close. Also instructions Manual is pretty crappy it helps a bit but otherwise figure stuff out yourself and improve the design. maidened the plane today all i have to tell you is that i was grinning the whole time. when you do a high speed fly by you hear this beautiful whistle that is music to any rc pilots ears. overall well worth the money you will not be disappointed. i will be doing a video review of this plane soon keep your eyes open for it.

As an upgrade HK could include in the kit some adesives for the all red wing. I installed in mine three 60mm wide white stripes from L.E. to T.E. in the bottom of each wing and a 20mm wide white stripes from root section to tip section in each upper wing panel. An all red wing is difficult to see in the air mainly in this fast plane. To avoid scratches in bottom fuse I glued a 10mm thick tape from tail to front. I mixed the two aileron servos to get a flap help to reduce speed at landings. The liteply for the motor mount is too soft and after one fly the screws get loose. I change it for a carbon fiber one.All in all this upgrade is better. HK please, don't use that soft balsa for the elevator.

It seems to be an upgrade from the Drago Red with its very slim fuse. The craftsmanship in the kit is of good quality. No noticiable air bubbles in the fuse paint nor in the wing. The fuse now has a thicker layer of fiber to avoid cracks in landings. The horizontal stab remains a weak point in the model as was for the Drago Red. The elevator is of a very light and soft balsa. For safety and for don't waste money you should reinforce it up and down at center section with carbon fiber sticks (50mm x 4mm). The bigger lipo pack you could install in the Drago Red fuse was a mere 1000mA 3S. Now you can install a 2200mA with ease. Now you can remove the elevator servo by unscrew the two screws. In Drago Red it was impossible. Good to know that HK is taking care about its products. There are a bunch of products that need this treatment too.
