This sleek Composite EDF Jet is set to turn heads and get the adrenalin pumping! Constructed from Fiber Glass and built up balsa with a thin main wing airfoil, the Silvia 70mm will cut through the air like a razor. If your looking to step up from foamy EDF jets and break free of the speed limitations that are inherent with foam models then the Silvia 70mm Edf jet is the model you have been waiting for.

This kit will require some assembly time and knowledge of composite model construction. You will require a 70mm EDF unit, a Brushless EDF motor around 2800kv to 3200kv, a 2200mAh+ 4s 14.8v Lipoy battery, a 50Amp ESC, 3 x 9gram servos and your own transmitter and receiver (Tx/Rx) to complete this model.

My setup:HK 10 blade edf,Maytech 70 A esc/bec,Zippy40C 3300mah. Bench tested at 62A and 840 watts. My AUW 42 ozs. Without plans I made a few mods. The wing is only 11mm thick and servo is supposed to be on the bottom of the wing. The wing and elevator are mounted flush with the bottom of the fuselage. This means control horns will become landing gear on our asphalt or grass runway. UGH. Mounted my servos in/on top of the wing. I cut square hole in exhaust for elevator control horn. Installed hook for bungee launch. Guessing CG is 80mm from wing LE. My bad for buying this thing.

Hi, i recived my Silvia kit today. Looks nice, here are the component weights

Fuselage 344g
Left wing 64g
Right wing 62g
Elevator 22g
Canopy frame 6g
Canopy 8g
Hardware 40g

There was a EDF unit with my kit, PRODUCT ID: 701F, i also bought on. Now i got 2 EDF units. One for testing and one for blowing up ;)

It's going to be a challenge to accommodate batteries, 2X3cell might be ok. A 5cell pack is not going to be easy... there is room i the fuselage, but getting it in and out is a challenge! The canopy opening is narrow.

I am going with this motor PRODUCT ID: XK2858-3600KV and 5 or 6cell lipo on the 3 blade EDF.

Now on to the build....

Best regards
Simon

Model comes with no instructions so I had to use the instructions from HET sniper Jet to just build it. Using foam I had to make a new airfoil shape on top of the main wing because the main wing doesn't have any type of airfoil shape to get this plane off the ground. The motor and fan assembly mount right underneath the main wing by doing this you will not be able to get the model within CG or carry any type of battery power.
This model is only for advanced builders. I would not recommend this for any beginner flyer intermediate flyer.

A super jet! The design is simple but the flight is great. Very fast with the recommended engine, very maneuverable. You still need prvoir protection for the underside of the fuselage.

THRUST TUBE IS A MUST.... I still haven't flown my Silvia yet do to endless weekends of rain rain rain. But my 4 s lipo has arrived and my UBEC so its ready to go. Static test showed me PATHETIC weak thrust. So i made a thrust tube from thin card board and folded it over and with some difficulty installed it successfully. Re tested static thrust and its a MASSIVE difference. If you do not make and install a thrust tube you will be missing out on A LOT of performance.

This is nearly an exact copy of the HET Super Sniper 70.

Start with a CG of about 85mm aft 0f leading edge of wing at root.

To see the BEST and safest way to get this plane in the air go to you tube and search this tittle ... Take off carriage alternative to hand launch or bungee launch.
