We pulled out the defibrillator and shocked some serious life in to the Dead Cat conversion! The Spider style Quad-Copter was already awesome with its optimized arm angle and layout for a propeller free FPV view. And now the much awaited progression to an integrated power and A/V distribution board and plug in power shielded.

The new lower board has direct solder pads for the motor ESC power lines right at the base of the arms and power “in” pads located directly above the battery to minimize cabling. There are power connector’s at the front, back and middle for your FPV gear and flight controller, all tied to the power shield which effortlessly supply’s a regulated, filtered and RF Noise shielded 5 volts at a whopping 3 amps for the camera and flight controller and 12 volts at 1 amp for the hungriest of video transmitters. The video connectors at the front and rear also not only supply the voltage but also carry the audio and video signal from the front mounted camera to the rear mounted video transmitter. This upgrade will save you weight, clean up your layout and improve reliability by reducing connection failures. I guess this Dead Cat has 9 lives after all!

Features:
• Integrated power distribution
• Wick style solder pads
• Camera and video transmitter integrated wiring
• 3 or 4 cell input
• SMPS converter with RF noise protection shield
• Thermal Protected

Specs:
Input voltage: 8-16v (3-4 cell lipoly)
weight: 142g
output: 5V/3A and 12V/1A

Tough looking unit with useful built in DB

Jul 21, 2019

Have to admit I bought this thinking it would fit the standard F450 sized parts which it doesn't. It's therefore not any use to me but at the price I'm not worried and I can easily remove the DB unit for use with another build.

I am completely happy with this, what a great product! This did wonders to clean my quad up! Some sort of schematic would have been nice however a quick check with my DVOM and I was off and running! This is a must have for the Deadcat frame!!!

Fairly straightforward but I wish it came with documentation on what each connector does.

I was hoping this board would make the addition of a camera and Vtx easy and quick. Not so.

The connectors on the board are male 4 contact connections. It is very difficult to find female 4 contact connectors. I tried using 3 conductor female servo connectors without the outer sleeve. When installed there is not enough room for these connectors on the controller and battery connector and the connector will hit the top board.

The best solution is to remove all of these connectors and install header pins. Once this is done standard male servo connectors can be used. The 4th pin is for audio, which I did not use so the 3 pin connectors would work.

Somewhat disappointed as this created a lot more work than should have been necessary.

If the board would have had header pins. I would give 5 stars.

So a friend and I are building dead cats. His is built and flying and after a hard landing the copper band for his ground circuit going to the defibrillator cracked and started pealing off. My frame hasn't been build because my filtered 12v to my video TX is shorted to ground out of the box. .......Not to mention his was nose heavy with a go pro 3 and a 3300mah 3 cell. So I ordered a 4000mah 3 cell because I have a heavier go pro 2 and ccd board cam for fpv but then ran into my electrical short when pinning out the board. I had high hopes for the dead cat but am having second thoughts now for sure.
Cheap lower defibrillator board.
Nose heave with a go pro sized camera. (With 3300mah)
Arms flex

I had bigger hopes for this. You have 5V in the front and 12V in the back and a just one extra pin intended for video between front and back. I would like to see both 5V and 12V front and back and some extra pins that I could use for whatever.

The defibrillator seems to output 10V on the 12V pin based on just a quick test with 3S.

Also note that the pins are FEMALE for everything. If they where male we could use the extra servo cables we have...

Connecting a Tarot 2D gimbal to this needs hacking. The defibrillator is in the way and the provided holes are not suitable for the Tarot. I opted to add a separate plate in between the deadcat and gimbal.
