I just got the HK Stinson. I bought the plane from the U.S. warehouse in Oregon and had it shipped to Texas. Shipping cost was a little more than I had expected @ $80.
Observations/impressions:
1. My canopy is cracked in three places and needs to be replaced. Will contact HK. Paint on the removable canopy DOES not match the film covering. Canopy was not glued to the ply frame in about 75pcnt of the structure.
2. Doors ARE NOT hinged but are bolted to the fuse after you assemble the plane. Can be hinged with some additional effort.
3. There is not one shred of paper in the box that provides basic info like CG, suggested cowl mounting details. VERY POOR attention to detail.
4. Doors DO NOT fit in the openings. They are about 1/16" too large. Can be sanded down to fit.
5. There is NO spare covering for an emergency. The removable canopy has no blue stripes on it to match the fuse and there is no covering to trim the canopy so that it will match the fuse.
6. Canopy CAN NOT be removed with the cowling on. Cowling MUST be removed before you can remove the canopy.
7. Covering is reasonably good but not done very well on top of the fuse and is not stuck to the fuse around the doors, windows and wing/stab tubes.
8. Coarseness of he balsa used on the construction is visible due to the lack of sanding prior to covering.

Grazie HK ottimo!!!

I finished assembly and have two flights as of today. Plane handles well and the DLE 30 pulls it nicely at 1/3 throttle. Landings are extremely stable and the plane can really slow down. Stalls are predictable and recovery is very easy. All in all a nice plane and easy to build even though there are no plans.

No build instructions at all came with the plane but it looks fairly easy to figure out. What I need help with is how to install the tail gear, set the CG and the control surface throws. Anyone who has one built and is flying please post any info you have and I will do the same as I build mine. Going to use a DLE30, 18x6 Zoar prop, Heavy duty Sullivan control rods, dual 2500 5 cell Nimh packs, 3.5 low bounce Dubro Wheels, opto kill switch, standard high torque metal gear servos.

Arrived intact although the box was beat up badly. No instructions in the box. Looks like its built pretty well, looking forward to getting my DLE-30 on it and fly.
