I give this model 4 stars, but it needs to get 3. After some modifications and improvements I give it a 4.

First, the pros:

- Mine (an original Sapac, not from HC, but it's the exact same - at least in terms of the build and quality) came with a quite powerful out runner - seems like some 28-30 type

- Nice looks and nice performance

- Hardware is nice

- Can bare a hard landing

The cons:

- Servos were week and needed to have their pushrods modif

The plane was my first aileron plane. It was really easy to fly. It came with just about everything. I had a lot of fun flying the plane and learned a lot with it. With the price it is at, I say go for it.

Awesome flying plane. Plenty of power.

No steerable nosegear, though.

Well I will do the hits before I do the good. Mine arrived in good condition However I had to resolder the wires for the speed control as mine was broken. I had to adjust all the linkages and enlarge the output holes so the rods would move easy and smooth. I finally got to fly it as we had gale force winds in MI for over a week and when the wind was calm it rained. It is no rocket if you ever flew an R/C plane that flies over a 100MPH I have several. Performance wise it was very impressive and drew alot of attention at our Club Field. Even with these hits I still give it 5 stars as I am very pleased with it's stable and predictable flight characteristics even in a breeze. I fly off a short grass field with and have no problems. Landings and Takeoffs are easy. It will torque roll on takeoff if you are not careful. With Maximum throws on Rudder and elevator it is a riot to fly as it is quite aerobatic. The provided setup has a very good power to weight ratio and mine does go vertical very well. Even though it took much longer than stated to get put together I look forward to flying it often. Great Value for the money!!! Thanks!!

I'm a new pilot and I cant say enough good things about this plane. Its super stable and has power like a gas plane. I've had almost nothing but crashes with 2 other planes but I was able to fly the Mentor right away. I was even able to do barrel rolls and loops! This was on my first successful flight ever. This plane is the greatest and you wont be dissappointed with it, no matter your skill level.

great kit, value for money

Nov 14, 2007

bought this plane mostly for fun,no high expectations, but i got a big surprice when i tried to fly it. The plane climbs great flies nice and steady, quite acrobatic if you need it to be. great value for the money

downside id motor shaft is only 4mm and quite long, easy to bend in landings extra propeller included in kit, should be motor axle instead.
