I WOULD HAVE TO SAY THIS WOULD BE ABOUT THE MOST WRITTEN ABOUT MOTOR IN HOBBY KING'S STOCK. SHAME, SHAME, SHAME, IT'S STILL NOT GOING TO BE AVAILABLE AGAIN. I HAVE 2 AND I WOULD BUY MORE IF I COULD.

It looks like these motors along with all the SK series are to be discontinued and be replace with the SK3 series, however, so far, I'm not impressed with what i've seen from other members who purchased them. I.e. from initial inspection and performance, motor windings are thinner, magnets are fewer, but more importantly, the bearings, are not japanese, but inferior chinese. And they don't seem to have the equivilent torque compared to the old SK series from what other members have said. I won't be getting rid of my old Sk series motors in hurry. Incidentialy, you can still find the old Sk series if you do a search for their makers, emp and type in, eg, 4250.

I have had problems with motor. The Back bell housing magnets are rubbing on the Armature when the prop is flexing under high loads. The motor makes
a shuttering sound when it does this. Rather than sending the motor back I was able to make it run true. It has lots power and it is doesn't not cost much. When I got the prop it adapter need adjustment too. So Hobby King
charge a little more and fix these problems.

Very good Motor but...Prop adapter needs some work. The Prop adapter is die cast and does not run true on the motor. The Prop screw is not long enough to take a spinner, prop, washer and nut. Should be made a little longer. I tried another adapter,it is a little better than the one that came with my motor. May have to take it to the machine shop and have one made that runs true and has a longer shaft. That should cost me more than I paid for the motor from Hobby King

So we have a Prop adapter that needs a little more work on the part of Hobby King.

Make it good we will pay a little more for it.

I just destroyed a 4260-500 by running a 5 blade 14x8 prop on 6S on a large Spitfire. It was pulling 72A and 1593A at WOT static. It flew spectacularly for 2.5 minutes and then stopped. Very hot. Opened it, winding burned. I knew better but some people here say it will hold up to 70 A plus. Not true! But it's a very good motor if you avoid doing stupid things.

Received mine 2nd SK 42-60 500KV.

On mine 1st SK, my plane ( P-51) finish landing on the noze, motor shaft twisted.

It has been ship even if the guy in the factory make it felt down and so the shaft is twisted!

Shaft is very soft, be carefull!

Don't ask for return support to Hobby King, I'm still waiting for an ESC that I send back on january!

I use this motor in an 4.8m span glider, with 16X8 camcarbon prop, Turnigy 4cell 5000mAh and 85A ESC. Total weight 4.4KG. Performance is awesome. Very steep climbs. Calculated current is about 45A, but have not measured it yet. Motor stays cool. Quality seems sufficient. No problems so far. Very recommended!
