TP 4130-8

Excellent motor, same exact efficiency, size and performance as an AXI 4130-20.. used it to replace a burned up AXI in my 9.5lbs P51. See this thread for details:

http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=660928&pp=50

With a 10s1p pack of Dewalt A123 cells and an APC 13*10 electric prop it used 43Amps at 28volts, 1200 watts. Simulation was pretty close to actual results, use Kv=352, Io=1.2A, Rm=99mohms... for the A123 lipos use voltage=3.35V, 8mohms resistance, 2300mah capacity. Excellent motor for the 60-90 size plane.

Motor looks really nice. Put an APC 18x8 on with six Emoli cells. At 31 amps it was getting just over 5000 rpm producing over 7 pounds of thrust. With 6S 4400 mah I expect to go a bit faster but it is perfect for the five pound 3D job it is targeted for.

Very strong motor!

Nov 14, 2007

I mounted this motor on my Hanger 9 Funtana 100 X today and was very pleased with the power. My static test showed more than 1700 watts on an 8S 4000 mah battery at 60 amps swinging a 17x10 apc prop. The plane is 8.5 pounds so it should be balistic! Will be flight testing this week.

Great Motor

Nov 14, 2007

I put this motor on a Sig HogBipe and with 6s2p A123's and of to the heavens I went. All I can say is no more AXI's for me. TowerPro motors are my choose of motors for now on. Top notch motors.

grunty!

Nov 14, 2007

Might be a bit of overkill on a .46 size plane but pulls like a train on 7 a123 cells with a 15x13 prop. 40A at approx 17 volts = unlimited verticle!

Backwards mount

Nov 14, 2007

Ulrich, it is possible to mount it backwards.. loosen the two set-screws and the wheel collar and slide the motor shaft forward.. apply blue locktite and re-tighten set screws. It is a tight interference fit so you may have to gently tap it with a hammer to get the shaft to move.

Limit this motor to 1200 watts in a sport plane.

TP 4130-8T

Tested this motor with 6 Lipo cells and 8 cells.

With 6 cells and using an 16x10 APC Prop the motor had 6.000 revolutions by using 35 A

With 8 cells and a 15x10 glow prop it had 9.000 revolutions and draw 45 A.

Great motor, for good price, no backward mount possible if needed
