I bought this radio last summer and I was never able to used. It stops display for no reason and after I verified with other owners it seems that many have the same problem. I heard many comments about that but no one that would solve that problem. And forgot about returning it as you will be stuck for paying transport. Very disapointed.

Internally soldered FrSky DHT into transmitter. Did some minor, but delicate, additional soldering of jumper cables between FrSky unit and 9x micro processor to provide telemetry on 9x screen. Also required soldered in USBasp connector adaptor onto 9x board to flash the transmitter with OpenTX firmware. Now I have receiver and motor battery voltage, altitude and radio signal strength data on my 9x screen during flight. OpenTX firmware also offers many other advantages of stock firmware - more model memories, improved mixing and programming etc.

Hello all,
I recently purchased this, and Ive found it to be pretty good. However, there is some quality check problems i found, as the common issue with bad potentiometers was present in mine. i was able to dissassemble the radio, remove the POTS safely, and one of them had a short on it, luckily i was able to cut it myself with a precision knife. the other bad POT only needed a cleaning, then it was like new. I recommend cleaning and lubricating the ON/OFF switch as well, and cleaning the POTS on the gimballs as well, just as precautionary maintenance. Other than that, it feels top notch in the hands, the gimballs are VERY smooth, and feel great. highly reccommend. A good buy, but it just needs a bit of touch ups on internals. overall, good product, and worth the extra bit of hassle to repair it. Thanks turnigy!

For the price this is a fantastic transmitter and a great platform for modification. Looks great in black and in my opinion this is a better looking and feeling radio than the 9XR.

The big drawback is the stock firmware - it's simply awful. After battling with it for a few days I flashed it with er9x and have never looked back.

Verdict: If you like to mod your toys then buy this. If you don't like the idea of messing about inside then buy the 9XR instead - it already runs proper firmware and includes an LCD backlight so all the hard work is done for you.

bought this as a replacement since my 9x with stock module died, plan to reuse the module and antenna from my dead 9x to use in this, saved a few bucks instead of buying a completely new one

Great price.I an using this with Dragonlink and it works great. All switches must be in back position or you will get a switch error. In the case that all switches are back and you still get a switch error, which happened to me,then you most likely have a bad switch.Easy to test, find and replace.Works very well with Naza by using helicopter mode.Use PRODUCT ID: 9210000036 as your transmitter battery and you will be surprised by the run times even with a Dragonlink.Main thing I do not like about this radio is that it has only one three position switch.

I ordered it Mode 2 and it showed up Mode 1 (even says Mode 1 on the screen). What ever happened to QC? I hope HK makes good on the exchange with out to much standard "its my fault" red tape. Time will tell...
