Turnigy SK3 Motors are the next leap forward in motor quality and design. We instructed the engineers to source the best quality magnets, bearings and materials available to them and develop a motor that would not only rival, but surpass the quality of many leading motor manufactures on the market today.

The result is an efficient, high caliber motor using quality double shielded bearings, sintered Neodymium magnets and a string wound stator ensuring an accurate and consistent winding each and every time.

The Turnigy SK3 motors are suited to modelers who are seeking a quality brushless motor without compromise.

Nice motor

May 27, 2021

I use this with 3S 1500mAh LiPo, 30A ESC and 8x4 propeller on my 700g Piper Cub with 1050mm wingspan. Flies great with lots of power.

I buy this one and the new version to make a fast comperisation if you like to have a detailed test like this entry thank you :) ###

Old Version: hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__39312__Turnigy_Aerodrive_SK3_2826_1240kv_Brushless_Outrunner_Motor_EU_warehouse_.html ###

New_Version: hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__80588__Turnigy_Aerodrive_SK3_2826_1240kv_Brushless_Outrunner_Motor_EU_Warehouse_.html ###

Quality: the new Version is a little bit better, less spherical bearing clearance, and better black mounting plate.###

Weight: the new one is 2.2 gram Havier because it different propeller mounting everything else is same.###

Performance: New one as 20 gram less Trust, and 0.5 gram/watt /less Efficiency and run Hotter!###

my opinion: What I dont like on the new one: its shaft holding its very big 7 mm this made it difficult to make a hole on a 10 mm Carbon squared tube###

Conclusion: for me win the old one!

These motors are a lemon! Bought 4 of them, and all 4 were bad right out of the box. The magnets were glued poorly so they touched the inner part, making unpleasant noise and not letting it spin freely. I had to re-glue some magnets, that solved the problem for some time. After about 15 flights one of the motor started to behave weird: it has start to overheat much more than the rest, starting to spin with half-a-second latency (tried diff. ESC to make sure) and making noise again. It finally leaded to a crash - motor stopped in the air, then restore again but it was too late to stabilize. For the money spent I had not expected poor quality like that.

Very good engine, not a power beast, but very good balanced and silent.

nice motor, gives out 160w on my 2200 3s pulling only 15.7 amps on a 8x4 prop.

caution for those intending to use it on plane, you will have to reverse the shaft as I think it comes more suitable for multi rotors, but the reversing process is very simple

Hi

Just a a small prop test for the 2826-1240kv Turnigy Aerodrive .

Using a Hobbyking HK-010 Power Analyser

Battery used

Zippy 30c/40 c - 2200 mah -202 grams

PROPS AMPS WATTS THRUST

7x4 12 148 565

8x3.8 15 187 840

8x4E 12 140 710

9x4.7 17 195 930

9x7.5 26 230 710

Battery used

Zippy Rhino 30c/40 c - 1300 mah - 93gms

PROPS AMPS WATTS THRUST

7x4 10 119 460

8x3.8 13 140 645

8x4E 10 114 640

9x 4.7 15 162 720

9x7.5 23 245 720

I didn't use a prop bigger than a 9 inch because of the maximum Amps on the Motor (16 amps) even then the 9x7.5 was to much

hope this helps

Regards

Purchased two of these and both brand new out of the box were bad. I place one into a P-38 and almost lost the plane after the second flight. The motor burnt up in air. I was able to land and save the plane for the next time. When I arrived at home, I started to test the next one out of the box and instantly it fried as well. I can not say that I have had a good experience with this motor.

Compared to the Turnigy Aerodrive, the SK3 motors are quieter and smoother.

I used 4 of these with 9x4.5 props, QBrain 25amp ESC, and F330 Quad frame. It flew like a dream, smooth and super fast.

I was fooling around and dumped it in the pool, fried the esc, Lipo OK, ESC fried, and 1 motor fried. The other 3 motors were dried out and work fine.
