I used 2 Motors in a selfbuildt plane.The Plane have a wingspann of 1600mm and the flightweight is 1200g.With 2 18a esc and 4 blade 10-8 props the plane have enough power to flight.
I used a 1600mah 3s battery and have a flight time of 10min.I am very happy with this cheap motors and will buy more for another planes.

I put a 14 inch. prop pulling under 12amps. motor get warm to hot.Put a 10x7 prop not enough power for a Slow Stick.wires are very small and brack very easy.

bought this by mistake ..i needed a higher kv motor ,,, but i think the build quality is acceptable ..

The motor arrived broken. Before connecting it to the ESC I tried to rotate it by hand and there were some grinding noises coming out, which after a few turns, disappeared. Connected to ESC, the motor shakes the prop back and forth and after 3-4 seconds stops trying (probably ESC safety feature). I'm using the cheap HobbyKing 18-20A ESC and actually tried with two of those - same result. Very disappointed for lack of quality control!
I'll keep the motor, maybe one day I'll try rewinding it - never tried.

ALready bought 2, now buy another 3.

It is best for 3D and endurance for 300gram plane, use prop 1047 and 3S lipo.

We can use it for slow and long flight too.

Didn^t tested it too much but t's look solid. tested with 25amp esc and 10x4.7 prop both 2s and 3s lipos and it looks powerfull.

Low rpm, 600kv, means these motors need big props or more than 2 blades. 840kv version recommends 10 or 11 inch, so these could use even bigger. Installed one on a 650g AUW GeeBee foamie with 1080 prop, 18A ESC, and 3S 1500 lipo. It now has more power than the original brushed motor, but not as much as I expected. It is unbelievably quiet, though. The windings look better than Towerpros, but the leads were thin and brittle, so minus 1 star.

If this is not the intention of Mr Scott, I sugest him to do what I did:

I simply changed the original 'star' connection of the phases to delta.

Now I can get 180W with an GWS 1005 HD, 3S 1800 mAh.

If you are looking for a low consumption brushless motor to get long flights with low capacity batteries (less than 1000 mah) then this motor is for you. I recommend 350 grams as the maximun ready to fly weight. Do not expect hard flights. I can fly 26 minutes with a 3S 1300 mah and the battery is totally cold. Preliminar tests for propeller/Amperes/watts with 3S 1300 mah LiPo:

8X3.8SF / 2 / 22 / very weak

9X4.7SF / 3.1 / 30 / very weak

10X4.7SF / 4.3 / 45 / Recommended
