Bad item delivered

Nov 13, 2018

I have ordered these wheels, to be used on my jettrainer.
After inspection it seemed that one of the tires was not completely round.
After a closer inspection it apeared that the rubber of the tire was completeley craked along the profile of it, verry bad rubber has been used for this one, verry bad product.
An other buyer mentioned this problem also.
No spare parts for this item to bee found on this site.
No value for money.

It is nice brakes. They are really high quality products. Thats why they are that expensive. You can never disrupt these brakes. When I was modifying my axels and brake itself to engage system, I worked with hammer. And I hit the brakes with hammer and nothing bad happened. There wasn't any scratch. These brakes are overall good but their braking rate could be more changeable. If the magnets starts to pull the brakes, nothing can move the wheel than. But what I want is to brake more slightly and smoothly. Unfortunately it is not possible. I only can make hard brakes while landing or in taxi position and sometimes it can harm my plane.(My plane is 4o size glow engined propelled plane, not an edf)

I received these, Listed as Turnigy however it was DR Mad Thrust on the box and description sheet. I first noticed that the tread was not straight around the tire it was side to side. I went ahead and installed them and after I got everything wired up I spun the wheels by hand and one was completely out of round. It was to much work getting them on I was not going to remove them. Luckily the Jet did not hop up and down when it went down the runway. The tires are soft and maybe to soft cause the rubber was already scuffing off on just the test runs. Hope they have replacement tires.

The worst HK products I ever bought!!!
It did not work proparly during testing, so said myself not to use them after landing.
During maiden flight takeoff, 1 wheel blocked and my Full composite 12S F18 went beside the runway and was destroyed...
So be prepared that it could block even they are switched off!!!
Hope HK exchange this product!

I just received a set of these today, one of which will go on the rear strut of a 1.5M quad EDF X-Wing I'm building.
They are quite beefy at 75g each and the wheels have a moderate amount of "slop" on the axles (not what I consider too much though).
The tires are fairly firm and should hold up to a bunch of landings.
To test I programmed an orange RX to mix in down elevator with flap channel and hooked one wheel up to a 4S battery.
After a bit of fiddling with the travel, sub trim etc got the brake to activate more or less progressively (using the brightness of the red LED on the control unit to gauge the input voltage), so that at full down elev the brake is fully active at which point it it impressively powerful. There doesn't seem to be that much progressiveness i.e. at half voltage there is still very strong braking, so while not completely "on" or "off" you may have a hard time applying "just a bit" of brakes. :)
Will update review after I've put a few flights on them, so far happy!
cheers

The electric controller has failed on two of my sets. Once using 10S and the second on 9S. It has worked on 8S but I wouldn't trust it unless a lower cell count is used (I now run 3S). The steel axles have no bearing into the alloy hubs so these must be greased to prevent excessive wear but take care not to get lubricant onto the braking surfaces or they won't stop very well until they get cleaned with alcohol or solvent. They are somewhat proportional so that is a nice feature. The tires aren't perfectly round on all sets but if the wheel is taken apart the rubber can be re positioned better.
For the money, they are pretty good and will help stop those faster than expected landings on short pavement.
