I have this motor in a gp 40 stick I run a 14-10 apc prop a 6 cell 5000 20c pack a d pull 50 amps. I fly for 8 min and only pull about 2000 form the pack motor is ice cold and speed control is mounted outside the plane so it is cold also. Could. not ask for a better motor for this plane.Mounted motor on 40 size profile with a Turnigy dlux 55A SBEC Brushless Speed Control, turnigy 2650 6s lipo and a 14x8 prop. Takes flight at quater throttle real good pull away from hovers love it will buy another setup to mount on my other profile..Good strong motor, would recommend.I put this on a 7lb high wing, swinging a 13x8 prop great motor, plenty of power, sail's at mid stick and is a beast at full throttle, even useing a 4s 2650 lipo, seems to be right at home at around a 4s 3000 lipo , Now I need to get another for a clipped wing cubGreat little Engine! Installed in a 7 lb Hanger 9 RV-8. Plenty of power, draws a maximum of 40 amps with a 15 x 8 APC prop. Using a 5s 4000ma lipo. Cruises at 12 to 15 amps. 15 minutes of mixed flight time with 25pcnt of battery left.I just bought this motor and was wondering if I could run it with a 6cell 5000mah turnigy nanotech:
I also have this ESC:
http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=22521I bought this motor (G46-420) to replace the glow motor in my Whirlybird Aviation's Profile Kellett Autogyro. Wow.....this motor is awesome! even on 4 cells and using a 14x7 prop....which is very conservative....it flew my autogyro well. I really like this motor and will buy more. For planes in need of high thrust and large props....I highly recommend this motor. 5 crowns and 2 thumbs up!!!David
This is value for money motor that will pull along my 80" piper pawnee
with ease using a 5s 5000mah flightmax lipo.the best results were obtianed using a 16x10apc, 786 firstname.lastname@example.org at 6480 rpm 15x10apc,668watts@36amps at 6700rpm.Iam using the 16x10 prop for
The best performance as the motor and speed controler are cool to touchVery powerful!! Zap up my 4lb plane in seconds.. This motor definitely replace a .46 glow engine.Purchased this motor to power a 5 pound plane and it does move it across the sky quite nicely. Powered with a 5S 4000mAh 40C Turnigy LiPo, the 15x6 Prop generates about 7 pounds of thrust. The draw is about 29A and produces about 595W. I fly the Hyperion Yak 54-40e with this strong little motor and I am very happy with the results. Battery, Speed Controller(Castle HV-45) and Motor run Very cool with this setup. Great price for such a strong motor. 4 stars for quality only because it IS a 40 buck motor. Best 4o dollars I've spent lately...
