I have tried to change the time without success. I have tried to remove the time tag: impossible. I made some fotage with my quadopter the image has heavy flicker. I have made some futage on the ground with acceptable quality for the size of the camera.

First this is my second review. I don't know why my first one never showed up. In my first review I said it does not connect to any computer. It turns out the USB cable that came with it did not work. Lucky we charged with a cord for a different device and noticed the indicator lights turned on. Then we used that cord on the computer and it worked. Nice and light. Worked well on my HO train with single tie holding it in place. I will post some videos in a few week.

A few notes:
1. Save the TAG.TXT file in the root directory
File Format:
[date]
2014/04/19
09:35:00

2. It is difficult to tell what mode you are in. I mainly want to use the video on/off mode. Many times I either had it in auto or picture mode.

I have 4 computers from windows XP to Windows 8.1 and none of them find the camera. I have downloaded all the manuals. I will have to wait till I find someone who had a micro SD card to see if it recorded anything.

VERY NICE LITTLE CAMERA
IT IS LITTLE DIFFICULT TO OPERATE WITH OUT A MANUAL BUT HERE IS THE SHORT VERSION OF THE MANUAL .IT HELPED ME A LOT.
1. Power on.
2. Press M. Red light. Now the camera is really on. Voice activated mode
3. Press M again. Mode changes but light is the same red. (manual video)
4. Press M again. Mode changes but light is the same red. (take picture mode)
4. Press M again. Mode changes but light is the same red. (voice recording)
4. Press M until the red goes off. Camera is off.
The on/off is reset. You have to keep it on to save
5 Copy the text file into the root directory of the camera card
6 Disconnect the camera from the computer
7 Set the On/Off switch to On
8 Press the mode switch to get a steady red light
9 Press the play switch to start recording
10 Press the play switch again to stop recording
11 Press and hold the mode switch for 4 seconds to switch the camera off DO NOT TOUCH THE ON/OFF SWITCH as this will re set the time and date to the default

I have to say, I am a bit disappointed with this camera.
Dislikes: It is quite a bit heavier than the previous keychain camera it replaced. The video quality is so-so and the audio experiences some crackling and popping, and static; at least in the audio activated mode (mode 1).
The mounting system that comes with this unit does not seem to be designed for mounting to aircraft, rather it is designed for mounting to a dashboard or other stationary surface.
The new plastic hinge mount does not have enough support to stay in place under the stress and vibration of flight. I tried to tighten the ball socket hinges, but they were already as tight as they could go. I suppose they could be glued in place, but then the position and angle would be more or less permanent.

Likes: The buttons are well marked and it is easy to operate.
The separate battery seems to last long enough to get a good many flights in. I have found a convenient way to mount it to my plane with the base from the old camera it replaces, but that involved cutting a slot in the neoprene rubber cover that came with it and sliding the cover over the camera and plastic hinge mount that came with the old model.

I'm so sick of these cameras...First I was so happy that I would be able to film from above, but in sort time my enthusiasm died. This is the 4th camera from Hobbycity, the first 3 cameras are the other model, Turnigy highrate 30fps Mini XQ-80 digital camera. To make a long story short, first camera stopped during flight, already discussed the problem on this site, turn out to be the battery somehow, don't know for sure how...Even today it's not clear to me how can a camera mounted on an airplane that has no vibration, no cold outside, accu charged, card empty/formated etc. stop recording after 3-5 min, after that recording another 12 min on the desk...whatever.
Second camera, full charged, 4Gb empty, formated card, in the house records 35 min, outside at -3 celsius stops after 5 seconds...ok, I will transport it in the thermos instead of the hot tea...Later I cut the accu wires, extend them outside the camera, and conected a 610 mA LiPo. Now it records until I stop it...the way it shoult have been from start.
Third camera power on, red light on , nothing works, several formated cards, accus, etc...like a wooden stick. Only way of shuting it down(red light) is to disconect the battery.
And finely this good looking RD 52 followed the procedure as described above by others, power on, M button pushed 2 times for manual recording, then execute button, nothing..you c

Quality is very good for price.
To modify date: create a text file named TAG.TXT into the root directory -
[date]
2013/11/23
23:45:00
reset and is better to block the "off" switch by glue stick or tape. If your want to have correct date permanently - never use the "off" switch.
Works very well with class 10 micro sdhc card 8 Gb Extreme Pro.
I dont want why but mine has 720x480 pixel, also I must to convert my video to 640x480 pixel (if I want to have proportional image dimensions)

I put overall rating 2crowns because my experience was bad. Only one crown could be good too, because my camera was working less than one day. From that point it is costly too, no matter if I will send it back or not. It deserve one crown for the quality too, but the quality of the picture, was surprisingly good. Better than I expected.
