Just received this motor, looks are nice , magnets and coil winding is good. Tested it on my homebuilt balsa plane with 9X6 prop. ,50amp redbrick ESC ,2650 25-50 c 3s turnigy-nano tech battery, the plane flew very nicely. Till now didn't had any problems.
The rating of the motor is for some big planes , but the price value is less and what I have experienced with overloading it with 10X6 E prop. that the motor is good for its price and not according its specs. So if some one is looking for a heavy motor for 1.5-2 kg plane. I personally don't think this motor is for you guys. Invest some more and get the NTM or SK3 class motors.
Overall motor is good for its price and not for its class.

Shaft is weak, I have broken 2 shaft from 4 on my quadrocopter in first flight. There is no spare shafts fot that motor, and I didn't find any identical from another vendors. Nevertheless I have solved my problem with shafts. I went to the local market and bought 3mm reinforced screwdrivers, saw off shaft of needed length, made groove and plate for fixing screw with file and finished diameter with sandpaper. Works much beter than original. Will change another 2 shafts in future.

3 crowns for quality for that issues and overall 4 crowns for good price and good another electrical and mechanical components. You can buy that motors if your hands are in the right place =)

I bought 4 of these to use with a quadcopter. The motors may be Ok but the hardware stink. As others have said, the collet chuck is for 3 mm shaft but motors have 3.16 mm shafts so you cannot mount the collets on the shaft even if knocking them with a hammer. How can anybody do such a stupid thing and I wonder why HK don't check the supplied hardware. Besides the x-mont is supposed to be mounted on the rear of the motor but the shaft is sticking out on that side. And the front has 3 holes for mounthing a prop adaptor but none is supplied. And I think none is to be found at HK or elsewhere. So don't go for this motor if you want to use it for a quad copter. It is very cheap but not worth the money - spend a few bucks more and get something you can use right out of the box.

I''m running this motor in a Rio EP. It is roughly equivalent to a Traxas 14 volt marine brushed motor in power and RPM,but much more efficient and durable. The shaft is actually 3.17mm in diameter and all four 3mm mounting holes are 16mm on center. I'm running a 3 cell 3300 lippo and a Turnigy 35 amp marine speed control.

I have bought six of them and all the prop adapters were for 3mm shaft. The motor has 3.17mm shaft and in the description is stated as 4mm shaft.

So, consider also buying extra 3.17mm shaft prop adapter.
