Purchased 2 of these.
One burned down instantly the other one still works but has it's problems. I use the 5gram Outrunner instead.

this is one of my favorite motors, it makes my little 18" wing strykers rip with a 4040 prop, 3s

I haven't run this yet, but as said before the shaft is 2mm not 1.5mm
make sure to take the endbell off and clean it well. I also had lots of Iron debris and it locked the endbell up.
Hope to run it soon. from the reviews it should be great

Cheap, but rubbish.

ordered two -

first one had only one wire, so thrown out (not worth postage back to HK)

second one ran for two seconds, and then disintegrated.

Great. To ensure a long life I have strengthened the three wires where they attach to the motor with glue. Then joined the three fragile wires together, as one strengthened wire is stronger than three fragile ones.

I used this motor on a small indoor foamy, this motor has plenty of power and the light weight was a real bonus.

The latest batch of these motors is showing signs that Hobby King is cost cutting on every step of the production process, which is highly disappointing.

The magnets no longer are zinc plated. The process looks to stop at the copper plating which is needed for the zinc plating to stick to.
The motor mount no longer has the 3mm locking grub screw to allow the motor to be removed (which is a feature I relied heavily on for my micro models) it is loctited in place.
The plating of the bell is now a duller, coppery color.
The phase wire is no longer epoxied into place. A sticky tack of glue is now being used. Great for those of us that like to rewind our motors (the wire itself is actually better now than it used to be so bonus there!).
The epoxy holding the magnets in the bell is now down to the thinnest wipe, compared to the decent amount they used to use. When I inspected the magnets, my first impression was that the magnets could pop off quite easily. For me, this is good as I remove the magnets and re-epoxy them in a 6 pole configuration.

In conclusion - still a very usable motor with the most annoying thing being the motor mount being loctited to the shaft. It makes aligning and setting up the mount to the models firewall difficult.

I used this motor on the tail of an AXE CP heli. I use a prop saver to protect the gizmo in case of a crash. It holds the tail really good and barely gets warm after a full lipo pack. I posted a video of this mod. Four stars because of the two I got one had a loose magnet.
