This new Turnigy Reaktor 30A 1000W Balance Charger with a compact case design will really blow you away by its high power, high current and its extremely efficient Advanced Synchronous Buck-Boost DC/DC converter system. A powerful microprocessor handles numerous types of charging/discharging settings for different types of battery chemistry. On top of that, it also comes with special function modes like motor (brushed) break-in and foam-cut drive which are like icing on the cake. To protect itself, the Reaktor's internal cooling fan will start automatically when internal temperature reaches 55 degree celcius (131F), the output power is automatically reduced by 25%. If the temperature exceeds 60 degree celcius (140F), the cycle is stopped.

For added safety while charging lithium batteries, a cell monitor program looks at the per-cell voltages, battery temperature and process time during charge/discharge. If any individual cell appears over-charged/discharged, the pack is too hot or the process has gone on for too long, the charger will generate an alarm sound and the related information will blink. Monitor the health of your pack by checking the internal resistance of the battery pack as well as the per-cell internal resistance on balance tap equipped lithium packs. The Reaktor also has protection for reversed polarity (input or output), low input voltage, battery temperature, charging capacity and time overrun.

Bundled with the Turnigy Reaktor 30A 1000W is an array of charging wires, plugs, precision temperature sensor probe and a balance board suitable for most of the batteries on the market today.

Features:
• High power, high current, high-performance power conversion circuit
• Advance synchronous buck-boost DC/DC converter technology with an output conversion efficiency that can reach over 90%
• Cooling fan will start/stop automatically according to the internal temperature and charge/discharge power, and protect the charger from overheating.
• Convenient set of 10 battery profiles that can be saved for later use
• 2x16 backlit LCD screen that provides rich information including active mode, current, voltage, total charge(mah), charging time and temperature etc
• Various charging/discharging settings and cycles to meet a wide range of customer needs
• Up to 1000W unique regenerative discharge capability
• Unique lithium battery expanding discharge program. When you connect the external capacity  resistance, you can use it as the maximum discharge power capacity-1200W (@40V/30A)
• Lithium battery cell monitor looks at the per-cell voltages, battery temperature and process time during charge/discharge
• Electric motor test mode can be used to run-in brushed electric motors, test motor parameters and performance, check tolerances etc
• Foam-cut drive allows the charger to act as a convenient power supply for a hot wire foam cutter.
• Battery internal resistance measurement
• The Reaktor charger has protection for reversed polarity (input or output), low input voltage, battery temperature, charging capacity and time overrun.
• The charger has a 16Mbit flash storage, which can log offline charge and discharge data in 36 hours

Discharge Power is not 80 Watts

Jun 15, 2019

I tried to discharge a battery pack with setting of 60 watts and the charger became faulty. Now the charger repeats rebooting when I try to discharge a battery pack over 20 watts. HobbyKing sent a replacement to me but the same symptom repeats.
Please pay attention to the fact that this charger's maximum discharge power is limited to about 20 watts instead of 80 watts which is indicated in the manual.

A good item which does all that you need.
Only degenerative discharging you have to be care full and must know
what you do.
One weak point with 10s and backload in car battery!!!
But with 3,4,5 s are no problems with all program points.
Resistance measure is good.

i bought one of these last year i think in august. i am now on my 3rd one because they keep failing. im not sure why but the first 2 i have had went up in smoke. the first one actually had fire coming out of the cooling vents. if you want to roll the dice on a 140 dollars then do it cautiously, they do have a 1 year warranty that hobbyking backs up but i dont know what im going to do once my warranty is gone

I love the 300W. Period. It is awesomness incarnate. This has all the goody of the 300W unit with an internal discharge power of 80W. Nice little bonus. 30A is getting a little "overkill" for my purposes.

The only struggle I am having is determining how to capture log data accurate in DataExplorer. Icharger 3010 gets close, but no temp data comes across. I may have to go to logview. ew.

Very good so far after a few test charges.

On power supply will discharge 1s at 22A and 2s at 11A (I thought 8 was the max so a nice surprise).

JST-XH balance leads fit the balance port, doesn't matter which size you use, so I would recommend adding a balance lead extension to your order for however many cells yore charging. You can then make up your own charge/balance lead negating the need for the board.

Regenerative discharge (up to 30A) can discharge into 12v car battery or even another lipo, just make sure you are using a discharged lipo, there are settings to manage this for safety. It also asks you to confirm regen discharge as a double check that you aren't about to kill your power supply.

Charge voltage termination is adjustable in 0.01v/cell steps which is useful for competition where voltage checks are taken

Good solid feel to the charger, 4mm plugs pre installed on input leads.

this charger is powerful, not an I charger308 duo like the one got burnt after couple of month of light use. I'm still waiting for hk to decide what should be done next. also not so expensive you'll be upset if something went wrong like that blue monster. I only miss the balance only mode which balance the cells to exact voltage without charging, nonetheless I'm happy with this for the moment as its powerful enough to charge my quad batteries all at once using a parallel board. also you don't need to buy special balancing board for this. as long as you connect the balancer starting from the right and last wire is the red one the charger will accept your balance board. I had to buy special cable to use hk parallel board to make it work with my duo not a problem here.

so I have had this charger for a few weeks now, and it dose just what it is expected to do. I do only have a 350 watt power supply tho, I have do some good charging of 3/4/5 and 6 cell packs with good results that iam happy with / with this charger , now I don't get fancy with charging I just do charging/discharging and storage, well worth the money if you want a big charger, also the menu is the same as the ICharges. not sure what else to say tho. peace on Kids.
