Wild Thumper 6WD Multi Chassis with Monster Truck Type Wheels/Tires
Here we have the Wild Thumper 6WD multi chassis kit with six monster truck type wheels/tires. It can be operated using the Arduino system or by R/C and is very maneuverable. It features an aluminum chassis which has been pre-drilled giving you infinite mounting points for fitment of a multitude of sensors or accessories. It has six 34:1 geared motors with metal output shafts and each motor has individual suspension for maximum traction. When powered at 7.2V, the chassis can reach a top speed of approximately 12 km/h and each motor has a stall torque of roughly 11 kg-cm (150 oz-in).

I purchased this because of the rugged chassis and upper plate for an open platform to mount test equipment. I found the vehicle to handle sandy terrain very well with the large 6 wheel drive system.
The 34:1 gearing of the motors is ideal for slow travel with the 2 cell Lipo battery packs supplying 7.2 Volts. The motors are rated for 6 Volt operation and I experienced two motor failures, during an autonomous navigation mission. The failure was due to a stalled vehicle against a chain link fence. The APM Auto mission feature kept the Rover navigating and not going into Hold Mode when it stalled.
The replacement motors are about $23.00 each and not carried by HK as a replacement part.

This 6 wheel rover will go almost anywhere.It will even climb stairs. More fun than any other platform I have used in robotics. I have integrated dimension engineerings 2x25 controller
and skid steering.Totally Awesome!!
