The first unit I received had some problems with over heating and damaging the outer cover. Hobby King replaced it for me free of charge. Thank you Hobby King. The cover material is not as high of quality as the more expensive competitors but at this price you by 2-3 for the price of one. I gave it a high rating because of the great service and value for money.
The heater does what it is meant to.

Continutation of my review that was cutoff from above....: Just some more facts: Test RC vehicle was an OFNA Nexx 8T with a Force .32 nitro engine, wamer fit perfect and I feel can accommodate a slightly larger cooling head as well. Power source was a 4.0 40c Zippy 3s lipo, I would like to note that a set of alligator tips are included in the event you want to use your car battery. I did not test the 10 minute cutoff "feature" but it's easy enough to tell since you'll see the led go off. You will notice some smoke coming from the unit, this is normal and should go away after more usage as will the smell that's emitted from use. This will be a fantastic tool not only for engine warm ups but also engine break in routines. Our only other major engine warmer option is a brand called "The competition heat" which is $60. As of now, this is a steal!! Awesome tool as it's just that, a tool.

Hello out there in RC budget minded land! This is a review of the Turnigy Nitro Engine Warmer but please note that this is not a long term review, meaning that I don't know how this unit will be working 6 months-12 months from now but given how it's built, I expect it to do just fine. To start off, build quality seems just fine though I would say the velcro could be "sticky-er". This unit gets warm pretty fast, while testing this at home where the room temp was around 70 degrees, the outside of the unit climbed into the 350 degree range and even hit 400 at one point. As far as the engine goes, measuring temps at the glow plug where one should be measuring, the engine temp got up to 170-180 degrees. Now please note, I did have to wait around 3 minutes or so to achieve this temperature reading. I did find it interesting that once I removed the the heater unit after testing it and checked my temperature reading at the glow plug again I read 200 degrees. The entire cooling head was warmed up, not just one section. The led/on off unit is rather close to the actual heating element so I did get rather warm. I guess on could simply solder in new wiring to move the unit further down away from the heating element/head. I'll leave mine as isand see how it holds over time. Also, due to how hot the exterior of the warmer gets, be smart as to what's around it that can be damaged by the heat
