Bixler gliders are very easy to fly and Bixler 3 is the most advanced out of them to graduate further from basic manoeuvres. The landing gear is an advantage and makes the model look good too while learning to land the tail draggers. I loved the model and its packing is very neat. Price is very reasonable making it value for money.

Our clubs' preferred trainer

Several members of our club fly the Bixler. It's highly recommended (along with the Tundra) for new pilots. The build instructions are almost useless. The first line says "find another Bixler owner and ask them to help you build it" and that is pretty important I think. Only takes a few minutes to glue the tail (vertical and horizontal stabilizer) to the fuselage (I used Foam-Tac glue), slide the wings together (no glue, just snaps together), then find your fellow Bixler owner to assist with connecting the push-rods and mounting the receiver (which isn't included) and ESC (which is included), and attaching the prop. Also recommend having servo extension cables (not included), so you can mount the receiver in the bottom of the fuselage, under the wings. Without servo extension cables, you have to mount the receiver and ESC forward, like under the cockpit.
We set the transmitter to 70% travel and expo for all 3 controls.
Stable flights, great trainer as everyone noted already.
Ordered from US warehouse in OR, took 5 days to get to east coast.

Great large trainer plane

First large plane for me. Got the Flight Test Aura 5 computer for stability and safety for myself.
Cons: Motor noisy as heck but works. Hard to position batters forward enough for CG balance but doable. Don't like that the tail rudder and elevator are not detachable as with the wings off the plane is still cumbersome to transport.
Pros: Easy to flight with flight computer provider assist (Aura lite 5). Forgiving after crashing it a few times. Hot Glue and she was back in the area with some minor tinkering and trimming.
Not a super fast plane but fun enough and pretty to watch her fly thru the blue sky.
