The FX-79 Buffalo is the newest addition to our range of First Person View (FPV) models. It is a great flyer with very predictable handling qualities, excellent stability and lots of wing area to cope with additional loads for FPV use. It is the bigger brother to the massively popular FX-61 Phantom.

The Buffalo features tough EPO construction with moulded in camera bays - one forward looking just under the nose and another mount in the top of the canopy. This larger version features premium 3K wrapped carbon tube spars, and breaks down into three pieces for easy transport.

Assembly of the airframe is quite simple,  just  a few parts to glue, install your radio equipment and fly. The FX-79 features optional inboard flaps with molded pockets ready to accept your servos.

FPV pilots will appreciate the space under the canopy - it's cavernous! There is plenty of space for your choice FPV gear. The central equipment bay dimensions listed in the specs is only part of the actual space. Additional side pockets are molded in allowing you to move your FPV antennas farther away from your main radio control antennas reducing the chance of interference from the different systems.

Features:
• Plug and fly - just add electronics, battery, and enjoy
• Ultra though EPO construction
• Ultra stable flight performance
• Excellent FPV platform
• Plug in outer wing panels for easy transport
• Easy to Hand Launch, Easy to Land
• Stable Handling at Low and High Speeds
• 3K wrapped carbon tube spars
• Outer fuselage pockets designed to separate FPV equipment from radio control equipment

The wings are identical to the smaller Phantom and interchangeable, fly's good using 3542 1000KV motor with a 12X6. massive cavity, with motor mounted out back it needs 10A battery and Gopro up front to balance. very big so not fast, I have found it to be fragile with a wing breaking away during normal flight, I recommend reinforcement.
My conclusion based upon the known issues with X8 and now this, is that wings significantly over 1.5m in foam suffer too much with flexibility. the phantom is great and X6 is sublime.

Very nice and BIG BIG wing !!!.
I love it.
Going to add Arkbird OSD, Arkbird UHF, 800mw 1.2ghz video tx, 2 x 5000mah batteries, Runcam2 and a small 700 cam.
Very good packing. This plane is high quality.

Greatest plane ever for fpv! Running it with 2x5200mah 3s Battery and you're getting more than plenty of flight time. I'm running it with an Arkbird autopilot and it's amazing. The body is great for divide you components so you're getting a great range out of your rc components. It worth the money. Better than the X8!!!!

So far I've only maidened it, but am fairly happy with it. The worst thing about it is you can't purchase spare airframe parts and if you watch my vid I need to. This isn't Hobbykings fault as it seems that no-one sells the spares so look to Zeta Science if you're into blame allocation.

Packing was good but, like others, I still managed to get the tips of my inner elevons/flaps curled from movement in the box. The standard prop is as out of balance of any prop you can buy. It's really bad, but then again, it's really easy to get one that isn't :).

It flies like a wing, change the speed, change the up-trim. Might be worth experimenting with motor angle to compensate this! Easy to transport as it breaks down so well. Has a bit of a presence in the air and once I get some more hours on it and looking forward to having really smooth video.

Pretty nice plane, running it on S4 LiPo with 12x6 prop. Great low speed behaviour, really nice off-power gliding. After a few successful flights I made a stupid mistake and crashed (was putting FPV goggles on during a really bad time). Lots of damage so in the hangar for at least a couple days more :( I recommend carbon reinforcing around motor mount, wings, front.

Awesome wing. Glide forever. I would highly recommend it, although I would've prefer if there was a kit version.

My only issue was one of the servo was faulty and I replaced both of them with a reliable pair.
