HobbyKing 3D Printer Filament 1.75mm PLA 1KG Spool (Translucent Yellow)

HobbyKing have come out with a huge new range of 3D Printer Filaments at prices that will have you printing all day and all night.

The range covers PLA, ABS, Flexible, Color Changing, Luminous, Nylon, Polycarbonate, Acetal (POM), Metal Composite and even a water soluble filament for printing molds. So there is a filament for every project you have in mind. HobbyKing filaments have a stable melting point, good round shape and most importantly a 0.05mm uniform diameter tolerance for a consistent flow rate.

PLA:

PLA has a lower melting point and prints easier than other materials. One of the most important features is that PLA is non-toxic, and even has a sweet smell when printing. PLA has a low shrinkage rate and it is very rigid with minimal flex. This material can print extremely high resolution models and is perfect for a wide range of uses. PLA is considered stronger than ABS but is more susceptible to cracking when subjected to flexing, impact or torsional loads so the mechanical needs of the print project need to be evaluated.

PLA has a huge range of vibrant colors and opacity for that perfect look whether it is artistic or utilitarian, in short a great material for 3D printing. PLA can be printed without the use of a heat bead, and can stick to glass or a PCB plate with a binder such as hairspray or white glue for a curl free print.

3D printing is a fun and exciting hobby with a wide range of uses from prototyping parts to making toys for the kids. Picking the right filament for your application is very important.

Ich bestell immer wieder dieses Filament ,keine Ahnung wieviel Kilo ich hier von schon verarbeitet habe . Der Preis ist unschlagbar , die Qualität und die Druckresultate ebenso . Meist bekomme ich es in Rot ,es sind aber auch andere Farben verfügbar . Es lässt sich auch gut lackieren . Immer wieder gern ! ich hab es auch schon mehrfach Freunden und Kollegen empfohlen .

Eins meiner lieblings Filamente egal in welcher Farbe . Es lassen sich damit hochfeste und haltbare Teile drucken . Einwanddruckerei (Flugzeuge) gelingt mit diesen Material auch ganz hervorragend . Ich hab hiervon schon einige Kilo's verarbeitet .

I agree with other reviewers: First layer: 225°C next layers: 220°C.
A bright yellow colour, glows under UV.
So far, I've chosen to use only 2 or 3 outer layers to preserve the translucency.
This filament doesn't seem to like very small layer heights (<0.01 on 0.4 nozzle) without clogging.
Other observations: the filament itself is brittle- its easily snapped when loading/cold pulling, but the finished prints have very crisp edges. It also produces a lot of angel hair but easily removed with a hot air gun.
Would buy again.

Great cheap PLA

Day-glow yellow.
First layer: 225°C next layers: 220°C.
Doesn't adhere on clean glass or hairspray.
But it does adhere fine to gluestick and watered-down Pattex woodglue
