Quick numbers.
Mejzlik 22x12, 2x Turnigy 5000mAh 4S 40C, TURNIGY Sentilon100A HV 5-12S BESC (Ver4), on the workbench (static): 75 A at full power (94A peak when hitting the throttle).
After 10-20s, the controller is cool, the motor warm to the touch.
The propeller mount shaft (12mm) is somewhat short, at least for a Mejzlik 22x12 which is quite thick: with the cone backplate, plus the front washer, there is only 3-4 mm left on the shaft. Will need to drill some room for the front washer in the propeller.

5530-10T Great motor for the price, installed on electric bicycle. 12s LiFePO4 cells, CC HV85 ESC. Top speed 30 mph. Replaced bearings and re-glued magnets for extra security (they unglued once, but no irreversible damage). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eMHvV_8W1W8

TP5330-9T

Nov 14, 2007

Hm, 5330-9T with a TURNIGY Sentillon 100A powered by 10 Lipoly elements (4100 mAh, 15-25C) (all timing). When I want to apply full power (over 45A and about 1500W) the engine quits working: low RPM, rumble noise, vibrations... Then I cut off the throttle, I apply power again and it works... up to 45-50A... and again...

TowerPro5330-9T 679g/235kv/80A

Nov 14, 2007

At the 1st. of January, I made the maiden flight with my 1.8m KatanaS, 5kg weight, 8s Polyquest 3700mAh battery, 20x12 wooden prop, 100A OEMRC ESC.

I was totally surprised, this setup is just perfect at 65A max current. Knife edge loops and torquing is absolute no problem.

After a 5min acrobatic flight, 2050mAh of the capacity were drawn out and the motor did not even get hotter than 30degC at an ambient temperature of 0degC.

Now I set my timer to 7min flighttime.

That is enough for a complete acrobatic sequence.

I can recommend this setup very much!

Thanks UH fo this cheap combo compared to our european prizes.

Best regards, Joe.

Realtime Statistics

Nov 14, 2007

OK boys, heres some real numbers for you. I planned to use 12s packs and start with a 22X8 APC electric prop. I mounted motor on 50cc Yak. To test first run I used 17x10 prop as I always start small and work up to find max wattage. I was amazed at the numbers on my power meter. I pulled 65 amps @ "3,150" watts. This motor is rated to go to 2900 watts. I dropped down to 10s and changed to 18x10 and made it only to 2,200 watts. My Yak has a wide cowling and I need to run a large prop, I'm not sure what to do about it but was anxious to share these numbers. Motor did warm up pretty good, ESC cool battery's warm and did not last long. 100 amp Sentilon handles it well but I fear I will need more than 4100 mah battery packs. I might try 8s with larger prop, I'll let you know if I do. Very strong motor. If anyone who wants to move shaft to other end I can help you with that, it is more complicated than most.

TowerPro5330-9T 679g/235kv/80A

Wow, that's a real strong bull. I've ordered now the second one. The first one is in a 1.8m KatanaS, a X-Tech model powered by 8s 3700mAh Polyquest cells. The test in my hobby room is promising. The motor draws approx. 65A out of 30V with a 20x12 prop, so i think that 2kW will be enough for the 5kg plane. We will see. The second one will find its place in a Graupner Extra 300SHP with also 1.8m wingspan. The same setup with 8s and a 100A BESC.

The only thing to complain is, that when you use the motor with the back mount possibility, and you have to turn the shaft, you have to widen the milled area for the grub screw. On one side is a M3, on the other side a M4. But with a Dremel, that should not be a Problem.

I recommend this engine.

Best regards, Joe

TP5330-9T

Nov 14, 2007

Just bought this motor for my 2M Sukhoi31. Ran it for the first time today on 10s5000 Zippy-H, Apc 22x12E, and Sentilon 100HV. Tremendous power up to 3/4 throttle, then it started screeching. Afterwards it made a ticking noise when turned by hand. I took it apart, and it showed that every single magnet had come loose. Nothing was damaged, so I will try to glue them back in place.
