Great motor!

100A ESC, 10S 4500Mah (25C) with 19/10 wood prop draws 60A and 2450W, with 16/8 3-blade prop draws 48A with 2100W. Motor barely gets warm. Great torque and power! What a pleasure!!! :)

I have not run up yet but i have to say that the screws to attach the ali drive unit were too short and i have now to purchase some to do the job and i wonder if the rest of your stock is the same.. The thread on the shaft could be longer as most elec props areb slim and the drive end is smooth which will be a problem when you tighten th prop.

I have this motor mounted in an ESM/KMP/YT/Planet Hobby 71' FW190A. Weights 7.7kg ready to take off.

Power set up is :
- G160 / 245kv
- Castle Creation Ice2 HV 80A HV
- Emcotec HV magnetic security switch
- 2P Nano-Tech 5s 4500mAh (10S)
- 18x10 Fiala 2 blades wood prop.

Pulls 66-67A and over 2200w WOT, and I get a static thrust of 6.3kg at 1'000m a.s.l.. Flight time (maybe a bit short) is set to 6 min. with almost 2min for safety. 5000mAh Lipos might be perfect.

The plane is heavy for it's size but the power is more than enough for a warbird and allows to push the plane beyond scale flying (something like "sport-scale" flying). I've got more than 20 flights on it now and really have nothing to complain about this motor.
At that price, it's a full hit!!! I can only recomend it!!!

Just received my turnigy G160 motor must say very poor windings

rubbing on can not worth sending back paying postage both ways

motor unused not even fitted terminals never again?

After rebonding the magnets in this motor I am super impressed I can't realy blame the original glue I was running it on 12S and it's only rated for 10S. But with the new Glue and 12S it's AWSOME !!! spinning a 19x6 turnagy wooden prop (nicely had balanced) it tows my 72" Yak55M verticle no probs at all See video

Problem with the 1.60

Three flights and the coils are against the rotating housing, burnt and rubbed through.

The ESC also burned the ground wire loose from the short.

So motor, ESC went POOF!!!!

Haven't called about warranty yet, some of the guys that I fly with gave me the (Good Luck! ) stare.

I would like to know if there is some problem with the engine if I use one 12S LIPO instead of 10S, as indicated. Im reading that some of you guys are using 12S... Could you help me please?

Look this Motor is nicely machined it runs true and develops a truck load of power. It worked perfictly for about 5 flights and some, on the ground testing, then started to make strange noises in the air.
I dissassembled the motor and was most dissapointed to find that about half of the magnets have come loose. I'm not sure weather to send this motor back or have a go at re bonding the magnets my self.
If I had the ready funds I would buy another motor from Eflight they look very similar.
