A high thrust and well designed Electric Ducted Fan unit for high power applications, the 10 blade arrangement makes for a quiet fan unit with an amazing sound, this is the closest you will ever get to the sound of a Turbine!
Made with 30% FRP and dynamically balanced, for use with high performance 28mm EDF motors, either 3.17m or 4mm shaft. For the best results from this fan, we reccomend the Turnigy 2855 EDF motors.
Outside Diameter: 72mm
Rotor Diameter: 68mm blade
Meterial: carbon fiber reinforced Nylon rotor
Shaft adaptor to motor: 3.17mm or 4mm
Max RPM: 45000 RPM
- Blade Count:
buy with Turnigy L2855-2800 EDF Outrunner (630w) and still not tested yet. But look good in qualityNot so happy with this fan :(
I've purchased this fan for testing along with a Turnigy L2855-2800 as I was planning to use four of these in a scratch built liner project.
Bench tested the fan and didn't hear the nice woosh I would expect, but an awful old hairdryer noise. Completely unbalanced but not all hope was lost, this could be fixed. I decided to remove the rotor from the fan to balance but and when I (gently) pulled it from the shaft adapter one blade broke!
This could be bad luck with a defective part, but the blades look fragile and made of flimsy plastic. I guess it's possible to order a replacement rotor but didn't bother. Just lost 15 bucks and I'm not willing to experiment further with this fan...
On the other hand the 12 blades 90mm version works great on 8S on my L59 Albatros, Both fans are the same brand, but completely different products.
Wonderful EDF, fantastic sound.
It's important, before installing, checking the balance (in case add some epoxy to balanceWorks great love it every thin was balanced had no issues with this edf.I found that the housing is very inefficient but gives lots of whoosh sound. Housing blades are 90 degrees to the fan. The 10 blade fan is very good but the spinner does not fit centrally on the fan. It moves around, which makes it hard to balance. Spinner inside diameter is too big. Easy fix though. Use the spinner mounting screw and fit the spinner on backwards onto the motor adapter. Spin up the Motor on slow speed and use a sharp blade to cut down the spinner. Like turning it on a mini lathe. When you have removed approx 3-4mm. It will now fit centrally on the fan.Very bad quality.
Very poor quality
0.2mm out of center.
I am extremely frustratedWonderful sound and good performance for a fraction of the price of other products in the marketMy order arrived today without the metal motor shaft adapter, washer, nut and bolt. Only plastic parts were found in the box. How am I to put this into use? This EDF is awesome...something that you should take care:
1. During the setup, make sure the motor is in central position, no friction surrounding the motor.
2. Please use locktite / thread locker.
3. Do regular maintenance, do not let the screw loose.
Enjoy...and this is my scratchbuilt jet plane with this EDF: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ia0-m7nrXx0
