This is the one you have been waiting for...DFC rotor head, shaft-driven tail system, carbon fiber main frame and dripping in alloy parts, the Assault 700 DFC helicopter is here!
When it comes to helis, size DOES matter. The bigger they are, the better they fly! Following the current trends, the Assault 700 is using a DFC (Direct Flight Control) rotor head which provides crisp, precise flight control with a very low parts count and easy setup. The DFC rotor head design brings the rotor disc closer to the main frame, moving the center of gravity closer to the middle of the heli. This provides better flight characteristics and more agility allowing for the ultimate in extreme 3D flight performance!
The Assault 700 is decked out with aluminum parts which other manufacturers normally sell as upgrades. The entire main frame is constructed from lightweight yet extremely rigid carbon fiber. The main shaft is supported by triple bearing blocks which are also constructed from aluminum. The tail assembly is all alloy and utilizes high quality NMB bearings designed for high speed use. The dually supported tail-pitch slider provides slop-free, precision tail control and now features an upgraded threaded alloy (replaceable) sleeve.
The electronics mounting design is well thought out on the Assault, allowing very easy access to the motor, ESC, servos, FBL system and radio equipment. The front cyclic servos mount directly to the bearing blocks keeping the design rigid, simple and tidy. The direct to swash CCPM servo linkages eliminate troublesome bellcrank systems found on other helicopter kits and offers precise, direct control to the swash.
The battery mounting system features a carbon fiber battery tray which is secured using alloy rails inside the frame. It allows for very easy battery swaps by sliding out of the frame with the batteries attached.
The Assault 700 DFC is mostly pre-built requiring only a few hours for final assembly, electronics installation and setup. We carry a full range of high quality components for this kit which can be found in the related items section below.
• High precision DFC rotor head
• Carbon fiber main frame
• Shaft-driven tail system
• Upgraded swash plate featuring thicker control arms*
• Upgraded threaded alloy tail shaft slider sleeve*
• Thrust bearings in tail blade grips
• Direct-to-swash CCPM servo linkage design
• Dually supported tail-pitch slider
• All aluminum head and tail assemblies
• Carbon fiber sliding battery tray system
• Fiberglass canopy
*Note: The Assault 700 swash plate control arms now feature thicker, stronger construction and the tail shaft slider sleeve has been upgraded to a threaded alloy design which is now replaceable. These improvements have been made to handle the stress of extreme 3D flying.

Issues: frame holes of anti-rotation bracket are small and have to be re drilled for correct size. Collective arms too long, you can't set neutral main blades angle unless doing some modifications or replacing them. Gears made of crap plastic, very poor quality. But after all correcting work it's a beautiful bird. Aileron and pitch servo openings have to be enlarged by width to fit standard size servos. Ops, don't crash it, because lots of replacements parts are out-of-stock; or buy another kit just for spare partsSuper Produkt !!!!I haven't had it a long time, so I cannot comment on longevity.. However, for the price, at least as far as the build, it's a steal for a 700 sized machine.. Yes, mine had a couple issues that hobbyking is addressing promptly(my auto gear was very out of round, and the anti rotation pin /swashplate hole was stripped of off the box), however, besides that, it's a pretty decent kit. The screw heads are a bit soft to me, but I tend to hard tighten.. And yes, my head links are also too long, but I will address that issue later..
But besides these things, the kit goes together well and actually so far, has hovered smoothly.. I run low headspeed(1700),as I'm just tinkering with this kit at this point, so I'm not sure about an insane headspeed and how it would hold up. But from what I'm seeing, honestly, I think it would be fine.. The parts are cheap enough to the point that this machine is almost disposable.. But it's certainly a nice looking kit.. Mine came with thread lock on mostly everything, but I still went through the entire kit(not only to check the lock, but also to check for example the square on the frames and to smooth out the bearing blocks)..
The instructions are pretty vague(in words) and is basically pictures/Iso drawings , but if you've built helicopters before(especially align machines), it's easy to get it together.. I wish there were more parts like screws available(to buy afterwards) , and given in the kit as extras, as some things like the servo mounts(the servo side) , do not specify.. However, so far, I do like the kit /machine very much..
And when you factor in the cost, and that from what I read, most of the align parts are a direct fit, and easy to come by, and even the assault parts are insanely cheap, it's a good buy..Overall a great quality kit compared to the usual HK kits, except for the swash link rods which are too long and unusable.Bought the recommended SK3 Competition series 500 KV motor to go with this kit but only two out of four motor mounting holes line up. Anyone else have this problem? What a blast this heli is. great quality. ive had alot of HK helis and this assault 700 is showing to be one of the best. She flies like a dream, and i push it hard. keep up the great work hobby king. don't forget to loctite everything. My first Assault heli after much HK-Helis from 450 V2, 450 GT, T500, 500 GT, 600 GT. Wow, what a big step in quality! I`ve built 4 or 5 Align 700 DFC for friends, and on every one i found some things not so good. But this heli shows no weak points, all is machined very nice and looks awesome. All shafts and gears run true, all bearings run soft and have no play, rotor head and tail rotor move softly. I think there is no need to change parts for my soft flying style, a hardcore 3D pilot maybe will change the main gear. There are only 2 things on the minus side: the canopy is de-formed due to the packaging, some heat can correct this. And the tail rotor need the "flip the grips" mod, it blows in the wrong direction when the control alr is 90 degree to the tail boom. Easy made. Can`t wait to build it!Super heli. I have 6 of these. Flying them all on 14S.
