I have this plane...it is from Laxiang. I didn't buy it from Hobbyking but would recommend the plane to a moderate/advanced pilot. This plane will not fly on a 3s pack, it should be flown on a 4S 30C 2200mah or greater pack. I added functional rudders and added the second set of elevons. Additionally I opened up the fuselage behind the rear gear and extended the front battery pack area. The last step is installing the Mercury alloy 64MM EDF's purchased here.

I got the plane recently and had the one key problem, under powered and incapable of a long flight , however i found the greatest solution ever,



STEP identifying: on the bottom of the plane at the back ,the center fuselage is actually glued in place and has a huge amount of space underneath, the part i refer to is where the ridges stop then you have a rounded curve (that is the fuselage )then bumps again , i removed the foam fuselage just past the rear gear, but had to cut a line across it so that i wouldn't have to remove the rear gear,



STEP: i then proceeded to slide the radio gear down under the landing gear and into the space , then made sure the power lead still reached the front compartment,



STEP: i pulled out the compartment that had the radio gear in, rotated it 360 degrees so the large gap in its side faced the cavity in the center of the fuselage (nose of aircraft) and cut its gap a bit larger so it could fit another battery through this is because it is too short to hold a long battery, (however if you have a shorter battery then none of the last step is needed.).



STEP: Now get the two wires that are the power lead and pull them up slightly out of the smaller compartment , then strip a small portion of the sheath on both wires so that you can connect a separate power lead in parallel for the second battery (red to red black to black), connect up the sec

Very nice plane. But needs a little more thrust for more realistic lifting. My plane had a problems with a start on short grass. Any way, it looks great and making a lot of positive reactions of spectators. I'll buy another one just for expo. Piotr from Lublin Poland

When are they going to make this plane and the F-117 out of EPO foam? This EPS foam is garbage. I love this plane, but EPS foam does not hold up at all.

I bought this aeroplane last time HK had it for sale. It flies quite nicely off grass field, and with a 2200 3s battery flighttime is mabye a little short (about 2 1/2 min on full throttle) but it will cruise on about 1/2-2/3 trottle.

Lovely aeroplane to watch in the air!!

Blackbird arrived safe and in good time .

Positives: LOOKS LIKE PHOTO, NICE.

ADEQUATE INSTRUCTIONS.

EASY ASSEMBLY

Negatives:SUPPLIED GLUE DID NOT COMPLETELY SET, AFTER 3 DAYS I HAD TO RE STICK WITH EPOXY.

MODEL WAS DROPPED PRIOR TOP SHIPPING DAMAGE TO INTAKE AND CRACKED WINGLET , SOMEONE HAD TRIED TO REPAIR WINGLET PRIOR TO SHIPPING BUT GLUED IT BACK IN THE WRONG PLACE SPENT ALOT OF TIME FIXING IT PROPERLY, FANS NEED BALANCING.

OTHERWISE OK .

Good looking model. Under powered, Slow. Good for about three laps and then you must land or the battery will be ruined. 3min flight time max. Weak airframe. I gutted the plane and plan to use the gear for something else. If I did not need the gear, she would have become a hanger queen.

THIS IS A PIECE OF CRAP IT DOES NOT FLY I HAVE TO REPOWER IT WHO EVER SAID THIS IS A FAST MODEL PLEASE SHOW ME HOW IT WILL NOT TAKE OFF ON THE GROUND I HAD TO THROW IT IT FLEW APROX 20 MTRS AND CRASEH THE LANDING GEAR FAILED ON THE BENCH COME ONB HOBBY KING WHAT SORT OF CRAP ARE YOU TRYING TO OFF LOAD

I have the LX models version of this.

Flying with 4s 2200mah 25c Turnigy Lipo (From Hobby City) This battery fills the stock compartment. Flat out, the battery lasts about 4 mins. Speed wise it does about 100kph & has no problems with short grass.

I also added the Turnigy servo speed regulator to save the retract servo's & make it look a little more realistic.

Looks great in the air, just make sure you angle the elevons up a few degrees.
