1:18 scale Rock Crawlers have become very popular over the last few years, FMS has become part of this fast-growing side of the RC hobby with this incredible, officially licensed classic 1983 4WD Toyota Hi-Lux. FMS is one of the most experienced RC manufacturers on the market today, and this replica's attention to detail is second to none. The full-size iconic Hi-Lux arrived in the mid-seventies and very quickly became the go-to truck all over the world. The FMS 1:18 scale replica perfectly captures the essence of the full-scale Toyota Hi-Lux design as it was in 1983 with the round headlights and earlier grille. The accurate details include a classic yellow paint scheme with stripes, an opening hood, plated rearview mirrors, non-slip footplates, a patterned tailgate logo, an opening tailgate, and classic metal plated wheel hubs. The realism continues into the interior with the detailed dashboard, steering wheel, and authentic-looking seats.
The underside of the Hi-Lux features a strong trail-proven ladder frame chassis that’s capable of handling all the off-roading challenges you have in store. The aluminum frame rail chassis provides a durable and rigid platform, and the multi-link suspension and Panhard rod design allow for maximum axle articulation over rough terrain to maintain traction. The power from the high-torque gearbox is supplied to all 4 of the ultra high-grip tires via strong, nylon driveshafts. Unlike a lot of vehicles on the RC market, the Toyota Hi-Lux has a rigid, injection-molded hard bodyshell, this means it has highly accurate scale detail, plus it is tougher and more durable.
The FMS Toyota Hi-Lux boasts an impressive array of scale, and smart function lighting, behind the transparent lenses of the front and rear lights are working LEDs for day or night driving. Other lighting includes reversing lights, and operational turn signals.
The 1:18 scale FMS Toyota Hi-Lux 4x4 arrives ready to run, it is fully assembled and is complete with a full set of powerful, factory-installed electronics. These include a high-torque 050 55T brushed motor, 2-in-1 receiver/ESC, independent chassis-mounted steering servo, and a 7.4V (2S) 380mAh LiPo battery for up to 30 minutes of run time. To get started, you only need to charge the LiPo with the supplied USB charger, install 4 x “AAA” batteries into the included 2.4GHz transmitter, and you are ready to hit the off-road trails for some fun.
