The Pitts Python 30cc is one of Goldwing RC's Giant Scale aircraft and has been designed for unlimited 3D performance on a 30cc gas or glow engine. The Goldwing design team have captured the beautiful lines of the Curtis Pitts full size aerobatic biplane that was designed in the 1990's. It can perform all the advanced manoeuvres such as snaps, gyroscopic tumbles, flat spins, hesitation rolls, knife edge and will keep its pilots grinning from ear to ear the whole time they are flying it. This kit is the 4th generation which has many improvements (see attached manual), and as with all Goldwing models it is still loaded with high end accessories including CF landing gear, CF tail wheel assembly and CF control horns.

Awesome plane!

Used goteck HC2621SG servos for all the control surfaces which was a perfect match for this plane. Engine is a DLE35 RA with smoke system. My first flight was on the beach at rocky point and from takeoff was absolutely perfect. Spins on a dime. Here is the video of the first flight https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QgrKRc5hjFc&t=11s.
I love this plane and would love to purchase another one but it seems to be out of stock everywhere. I really hope this hits the market again. flying for 20 years and this is my favorite plane to date.

Very good kit, quality accessories, but very bad electric motor mount.

There’s no room for a standard low noise silencer for a petrol engine, so I decided to fit an electric motor 180 kV, 12S lipo, 20x10 prop, using the motor mount provided.
Maiden yesterday - a couple o meters after take off the motor mount came off, speed too low for a safe landing. Landing gear broken, one spat cracked and no spares from Hobbyking.
Wat happened? The plywood cage of the motor mount is glued to a 2.8 mm ply sheet, just reinforced at the edge with balsa triangular battens. Glue seems to be cyan only. The plywood did split, unsuitable and insufficient glue and the motor pulled away.
DO UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES USE THE ELECTRIC MOTOR MOUNT PROVIDED! Either make your own box or find a metal motor mount if the motor should be front mounted.
Other improvement required is placing of the top wing cabane. The four aluminium strips require a diagonal brace. I used 2mm rod, threaded at both ends clevices and tiny holes in the strut. From top of the rear struts to the bottom of the front struts. BTW - The shorter strut is at the front.
Center of Gravity should be at 30 mm from the leading edge of the bottom wing - only first impression after take off before crash. The motor weighs about 750 g, ESC fitted on motor mount and 5000mA batteries facilitate the correct CG.
Landing gear mount is very solid and did not suffer.
Top wing is one piece, servos and cables to be fitted prior to glueing the wings together. Careful transport required because there are bits sticking out top and bottom.
Assembly at the field is fiddly and you should have spare 3mm screws and lock nuts in your flight box to replace those which fall into the grass.
Hindsight- I had a suspicion that the motor mount wouldn’t do the job.
Hobby king should at least consider offering spare parts - Minimum the landing gear.
