Lost canopy, fly with a safety

I love this airplane. However, I lost the canopy. There are no repair parts. I suggest you hold it down with an extra rubber band. Or, you can do like me, and watch it drift away into the tall grass.

At $109 the A1 Skyraider was a great value (IMHO)

At $109 the A1 Skyraider was a great value (IMHO).. I bought it when it was on sale for $86.99.. At that price it's an insanely great value!! I'm amazed at how great it looks in person especially with all the ordinance glued in place.. It looks so cool that I don't even mind the fixed landing gear!! I wasn't expecting such a great maiden flight from an 800mm.. The ORX's gain seems a little high on the ailerons when in stabilized mode. I'll drop that down mechanically since there doesn't seem to be a way to do it otherwise.. Overall it's a great park flyer.. Not a good first plane.. I think it makes an ok first 800mm warbird. It is definitely manageable if you've had a few planes under your belt.. In auto-level mode, it would probably be fine in the hands of a novice, but hand it over to pilot with experience to land it :p ..

Surprisingly Stable and Aerobatic

Wow! I was completely surprised at the overall quality and flyability of this plane. First, the assembly was simple and quick. No nose weight was needed to CG the plane out. Proper placement of the battery was all that was needed. Take offs were simple for a warbird...slowly increase throttle, give some back pressure on the elevator to keep the tailwheel down and a bit of right rudder and she's up at about 50%-60% throttle.
I could not believe how stable she flew. I have about 6 or so other warbirds ranging in size from 750mm to 1200mm and she flew as good if not better than the big birds! I didn't even have to add any aileron trim. Just a bit of rudder and elevator trim and she flew as straight as an arrow.
She had plenty of power, roll rate was almost too much and she landed much slower and gentler than I anticipated. For fun, I added all of the ordinance and she was a beauty in the air.
My only negative is I had a significant wing wag using the ORX gyro. But HobbyKing made that right immediately after talking to them.
I couldn't be happier with this purchase. Reasonable price, beautiful plane and fantastic flier. I highly recommend this plane!

This is my seconded perches of this plane I bought it 2 years ago out of the Europe warehouse for 69.99 plus shipping witch cost a total amount of $146.99 then it sold out and then was discontinued and the A1-D skyraider is my favorite model in my hanger and every where else it is sold out or twice expensive so when hobby king brought it back I did not hesitate to re-order the model before they sell out my new one will be here on Monday this model is the best flying model in my hanger very stable great flight characteristics very suitable for all levels of flyers if your looking for a stable plane that fly's like a trainer you should buy your copy before it sells out I give it five stars for scale details and fly's great very stable

Fast shipping just a great plane nice detail out of the box and is easy to assemble the tail was a little of a challenge but went together nicely overall however the lack of replacement parts props ext changes it to 4 stars can't wait to maiden this plane would buy again
