This great looking Hunter is our largest yet, made from tough EPO foam, it combines large scale with light flying weight to give you a impressive model with stacks of presence both in the air and on the ground that is also easy to fly.

Included with this huge, easy build jet is a 90mm EDF and 1500kv Brushless Outrunner combo which gives plenty of thrust when powered by a 5s Lipoly. This model looks great coming out of the box. Nicely painted however there is a problem Many pieces come pre-warped due to packaging. These warps can be removed but it must be done in the hottest tap water (not boiling) before assembly. Bathtub is a good place to start. The landing gear is oldschool flimsy and needs replacing. The fan and motor are usable and would likely fly the plane OK once dynamically balanced.

I'm about 80pcnt ready with my build now and my impression is this:

Nice scale aperance, good looking model. The surface of the foam is good as well, about the same as the Durafly Vampire wich I truly love to fly. The landing gear is very good looking. The fan is nice and sounds like a whistle with the 7 blades. This is the , now to the minus.

- The parts fits really bad. You need about 3 sets of epoxy ( the size of the ones you buy at the gas station). Despite being careful there are a lot of gaps to fill. You need much tape to hold it in place whule curing and that tape destroy the paintwork... So I need to buy a lot of filler for the ugly caps and repaint it.

I love the Hunter and this has potential to be a nice kit. But it should be a PNP instead. If it was, then this would be one of the best and coolest on the market. But now you must love working with a lot of epoxy... So, when it is done it surely will fly nice. The way to it might be worth it, not sure though.

Further to my review, I have uploaded two files at the File section here describing the balancing of the fan and the electric retracts.

All body parts in this kit are loose and needs to be glued together, Not as shown on these pictures. The kit is from FlyFly and comes with EDF motor which has the following data:

Model : FF3-308

Brushless motor Outrunner

Class : B36

Rpm/v : 1500kv

Li-Po : 5 cells

Shaft dia : 5.0mm

Length : 67mm

Weight : 182g

Be sure not to use more than 5S battery

The fan needs balancing. Be sure to do this. I drilled up the holes in the fan blade holders to loose weight on the heavy side. Seems to work well. The gears are quite nice with shock absorbs but gears are held with plastic retracts but the retract mechanism is locked with screws so they are not functional. I bought here the serrvoless retractable landing gear set, PRODUCT ID: HKS-1106 which are made for this plane. These electric retracts came with Metal trunions - not plastic as shown on HK picture and they have a nice way of holding the steering servo. I will take pictures of the retracts and also balancing of the fan and add them in the file section later. Will also post a review once the plane is maidened
