This is a great plane to get into pattern flying. I'm running the SK3 5055 430kv motor, turnigy 5000 ma 6s 25c battery with an APC 15x10 prop. Instructions are a little thin and I was missing a few pieces pieces from the hardware but nothing serious. Packaging was great and it arrived unharmed! If not missing some of the hardware 5 stars all around. Definitely an excellent value!

good looking model and flies really well. There were a few issues during assembly all of which have been mentioned in previous reviews. Unfortunately mine only lasted about twenty flytes as I had a radio failure. I have since decided to use a separate bec and battery to supply the servos to prevent any chance of another esc failure.
I have ordered another and had no hesitation doing so.

Nice looking model with an attractive color scheme. I've checke the weight of all components without battery and it is below 2.3 kg. Unfortunately standard servos don't fit maximum size is 30 x 15mm. In the wing is a rib next to either side of the cut out so it's not possible to easily increase the servo size.
The wing joiner carbon tube is too thick and must be sanded down. The motor mount is not well assembled, triangular reinforcing battens are incorrectly fitted. I'll reinforce the box with GRP. I had another model from HK before where the box came apart and the prop caused a major damage. The wings should go into a cut out at the fuselage which is covered with film. Cowling has got a horrible paint job. The instructions on CD apart from CG are trivial as this model is targeted at an experienced user only. Weight and layout will make a well performing model in the end. Equipment will be Turnigy G60 500 KV, YEP 100 A speed controller, 5AH 6S, APC 16 x 10E and 56 Ncm Park servos. Let's see how she will fly - lot of expo at the beginning. CG should be fine with the heavy Lipo.

You get a lot of plane for the price, BUT...

The quality control on this plane is horrendous. I've started assembling only the wings and had a quick look over to see if everything is there. So far, I have got the canopy not fitting and the canopy lock not locking it in place. There are hinges missing in one aileron and no hinges for my rudder at all! On building the wing, I now find that they have not given me the control rod for the aileron and the rod to hold the wing in place with the fuselage is missing!

These problems are only from the first step of trying to build the plane. Not sure how the rest of the build will be.

Not happy at all!

sadly mine goes down...
But, Here what I can tell :
Motor - 5055 SK3 - 500Kv
Batterie - 6S 5000mA/H 25C
Prop 15x10 - 14x10
With this configuration, the plane is great ! She's flew straight, stable, climb very easy 45 and easy full vertical.
I made a low flyby (~3m) full throttle along the runway (110m) and no parasite movement at all.
Indeed, This plane as a slight diffrential between ailerons that made her to turn a little out of her axe while rolls.
But She's light, fast, land softly (almost as my Katana) and she can hang herself by the prop and make a torque.
I think she died because of a glue problem on ailerons. I can't wait for her to be restock.
Happy Flying.

Nice one. Nice construction. It feels serious, solid and (because i'm French) makes me think about the TGV. Too bad the canopy was damaged and some parts are missing like a horn and strangely, one aileron make noise when shaked. I think of a hinge, pushed too far when it was packed.

Just received this model. Great service from the Aussie warehouse once again! The angle of incidence in the stabiliser looks wrong and the tail fin is out of plumb considerably. Has any one else noticed this with their model? Other than that is appears of reasonable quality. Guess I ll fit it out and see how it fly s.

Today was the maiden of my Airoso, A few clicks of right and a click of up and she was straight and true, what can I say, this airframe is right on the money design wise, let down a bit by construction and fittings, they could have been better is all.The main failure is the grade of alloy used in the landing gear, it is much to soft for this weight of plane, the second takeoff was weird, insofar as she would not unstick easily, third was even worse ( impersonating the shuttle vertical takeoff ) not till after landing the reason became apparent, the gear had spread changing the angle of the wings to a point that the tail could not get low enough for a smooth takeoff. I would recommend a stronger alloy or a carbon fiber change. All my landings were smooth and clean, so the alloy should not have distorted.

Other than the gear alloy, fantastic aircraft, fly's like a F3A pattern plane should, the motor/prop L5055 600Kv 12x10 combination is just the right amount of power for all vertical maneuvers, though late in battery life struggles a bit if you are heavy handed during flight, if you keep the tail wheel small and low, takeoff's will be gentle and easy.

Cheers TBBW

A good looking ( what were they thinking with the rudder colors? ) model that is reasonably assembled.
Mine under final stages of construction.
Motor L5055 600Kv on 6cell 4000Mha Lipo spinning 12x10 producing 1500 watts @ 63 amps on full charge.Turnigy Blue series 70 amp ESC with separate battery for RX. Servos Turnigy 3317m ( they are .5mm to wide for the wing cavity's so a little sanding needed) reworked the tail section to fit 3 servos for split elevators ( the right side can be enlarged to fit the extra elevator servo with minor work)
Braced the landing gear fittings to firewall and F2 with ply and re glued all joints with expandable foam glue, Larger alloy wheels without pants for grass field. Made the rudder all white ( looks heaps better) Engine box reinforced all round.
A better than average kit from china with good fittings, though I will use my preferred ones, a 9.5 out of 10 for this one.
Will see how it fly's soon ( working on a U.F.O "glass fuselage" at the same time, and yes it costs about the same as this kit to build ) so the Airoso is great value , well done Hobby King.
