This charger can actually be used with LiHV packs with the relatively recent firmware.
This firmware was already installed with the unit I ordered in July 2016
A great little charger to start with - with a firmware update, it can even charge LiHV packs!
I am using it to parallel charge my mini-quad batteries. Since it is only 50Watts, I can only get 4A charging on my 3S Packs, and 3A charging on my 4S packs. So for parallel charging it could be quicker, but the price is a bargain. If you are starting out, and trying to keep costs down, this charger is for you.
You can download a firmware update to enable LiHV charging from here: http://www.skyrc.com/download/B6AC_V2_V1_13.rar or google for "B6 MINI & B6 AC V2 & B6 AC V2 – FIRMWARE V1.13 UPDATE NOTICE" if the link is broken
perfect charger works excellent and It is not very slow
Just as good as original except charges faster and upgradeable firmware!!!
perfect charger. Highly recommended
I just love this charger! This version AC can work with AC and DC.
The system is the best charger I know, it is worldwide used and this version V2 can deal with LipoHV. At least has the menu option, i didn't tryed yet.
I did about a weeks worth of research when trying to decide which charger i wanted to get for my Hobby Batteries. This charger does it all Li-ion, LiPo 1S-6S cells, Life, Ni-Cd and NiMH. In short that about sums up every battery you could possibly list. When you read the manual you may become a little intimidated but once you turn it on and go through the menus it is really easy to understand. I looked at every charger from $25 - 100 and realized that there was no real competition that come come close to solving my needs and desires - Except the Clone/Copy. Due to the fact that my batteries have cost more than my charger I felt that buying a knock off is not worth the hazard or even the slightest risk of a faulty voltage regulator- or destroying even one of my batteries. If youve been debating like i was for the past month and seriously for the past week stop you found your charger it does it all. It comes with an internal power source and a few excellent connectors that saved me $10 that i would of spend with the other chargers.
The only reason to not buy this charger is if you are charging full time 5/6s size batteries as it is only a 50 watt charger. This will probably take much longer then you would like and you want to step up to a 250 watt charger.
Good luck and happy controlling.
Good enough. Buy a "chargerboard" as well, this way you can charge more batteries at the same time. Only downside is the amp (max 6).
This is an AWSOME charger, I have had the older DC version for more than 5 years and it still works perfectly, I bought this AC updated version and it is even better than the old one, a must have for all battery charging, I have even charged my Optima gel cell car battery worked great.
This charger is a nice step up from my old Turnigy Accucel-6 charger, because it adds the convenience of AC input built-in, and it doesn't have the proverbial creaky-sounding cooling fan of the Accucel-6. And the nice thing is that the LCD display and button inputs look and work exactly the same as the Accucel-6, so there's no need to re-learn anything!
