We are now proud to offer our Hobbyking YEP ESC series. With helicopter specific programming options such as super smooth soft start, fixed RPM mode (governor mode) and ultra high resolution, you won't find a better helicopter ESC on the market today!
We have tested these units on our own helicopters and found them to be among the best we have ever seen. The super smooth soft start, along with its ultra high resolution throttle response puts this ESC in a class of its own!
The YEP series ESCs not only offer excellent performance for helicopters, they are also well suited for fixed-wing use with a whole host of programmable features.
HobbyKing YEP ESCs are built with the highest quality components to ensure true-to-rating current handling and high efficiency operation.
All HobbyKing YEP ESCs can be programmed via optional programing card or by transmitter stick inputs.
• Powerful 5.5V/4A Switching BEC
• Optional programming card for convenient setup
• Super fine throttle resolution provides first-rate and highly accurate linearity
• Super smooth adjustable start-up mode
• Constant RPM mode (governor mode)
• 3 steps adjustable normal EMF brake
• High anti-interference capability
• Low voltage cut-off protection with automatic adjustment for NiCd/NiMH/Li-Ion/LiPo/LiFePO4
• Soft cut-off option at low voltage, slows motor RPM gradual rather than hard cutoff (LVC)
• Low voltage cut-off can be disabled
• Variable cut-off voltage / cell
• Active free-wheeling circuit allows for unlimited "partial load" capability
• LED status display
• Adjustable motor timing from 0° to 30°
• Blocked rotation protection (senses a jammed motor and stops motor rotation)
• Motor reversing from ESC (no need to change ESC/motor wires)
• Over-temperature protection and overload alarm
• Throttle signal lose protection. If the signal is lost for 3 seconds, the power will automatically cut-off.
• Safe power-on. (Motor will not start until throttle is returned to lowest position)
***This ESC is compatible with both helicopter and airplane models.***

Unfortunately, this ESC behaves like a lady: it does what she wants - but not what you want.
I put the throttle, the engine starts. I put the throttle back to switch it off, but the engine keeps on running. I exchanged the YEP with another ESC ... and it worked properly.
Now I wait for the reaction to my RMA request ... then I have to send it back, which costs almost as much as the ESC itself.
Also bad: you have to solder all the connectors to the ESC.
HK please do quality control (the other part of the parcel was a Turnigy 2830 engine - with fully unbalanced shaft ...).
Wanna see it on video: https://youtu.be/gc39QkctrD8 (search for "defective yep 30")
This is the very first time I have been disappointed by Hobby King.
Bought this for a 300 size heli but it was dead on arrival.
not worth returning. I have not had trouble with PLUSH ESCs. I will replace it with a PLUSH.
wonderful ESC, bought it because the BEC amperage is high enough to run all my servos in my Guinea Pig cargo plane
very very very good esc I use it on my HK450 and i buyed 100A for the trex 600
Got two of them 30A (have a bunch of the bigger ones 60, 80 and 100A`s - these I like very much!!!) the 30A are absolutely crappy:
First one fried at first bench test on my bixler with NTM 28-26-1350KV, burned at 18A / 204W only! ...badest thing - it fried the motor two second later...
The second one hat a bad internal BEC providing total unstable power supply to Rx etc. When using it with a external UBEC, it was working ok ...but that is not what I call "good & reliable quality".
Think the 30A has a series of faulty ESCs.
Super Regler, immer wieder gerne gekauft.
Zum Umbau auf Wasserkhlung fr Boote bestens geeignet.
Preis/Leistung einfach unschlagbar.
-2x80A (watercooled) im 80cm Cat, keine Probleme...
-2x150A (watercooled) im 1m Cat, keine Probleme...
-2x30A im 0,5m Cat, keine Probleme...
Would have been better if HK got their chit together and put the proper specs out there. To my knowledge, this ESC ( a YGE clone) cannot reverse rotation by programming, either by stick or by programming card; any 2 contacts must be reversed to reverse motor direction, there's no way around it.
Other than what's mentioned above it is a pretty solid ESC with a ton of programming features, runs cool
uso questi regolatori in parecchi aerei buoni come uscita amperaggio e programmabili con sua scheda
Very nice ESC for an HK250GT build. Word of advice, get the programming card or you will be stuck!
