Mine came without the black stator ring, it is unblued/natural metal finish. Some nicks in the end bell, result of shipping? Tested with 10x7 apc-e prop, 9500 rpm at 27 amps, no load of 2.4 amps on 3s lipo.
Power and efficiency on par with the Axi 2820 motors, would make a good direct replacement for the 2820/12, a bit tamer than the /10, probably right around the 1000kv rating. Stator is around 30mm, so the outside diameter is a couple of mm more than the Axi, but it is a bit shorter and 5 grams lighter. (shorter wires) Mounting holes same spacing as the Axi.

Was running a Himax 3516-1350 with 8x7 use it on my Multiplex Dog Fighter on 3S 2200 45C but stop working after 4 flights. Swapped the motor with the KDA36-12L and changed the prop to 10x7. Speed was slower, so I decide to try 4S with the same prop. With 4S the 12L run really well, clocked 220km/h and motor is warm after 4-5mins of almost WOT flying.

Excellent motor.

At the first flight with this motor, the engine fell appart, they just don't glue or fasten the bearing and engine to the front plate.

Not the cheapest! Returning vor warranty is no option form me due to the high shipping costs from The Netherlands Europe!

DON'T BUY

it was a good brushless motor, until at the fifth flight the propeller shaft broke in two and left with the propeller ... it follows that the motor is "bended" at the front bearings. the propeller was well balanced, the spinner a little less.
Mounted on a Acromaster (multiplex), with the trust controller 55A, and a 12x6 propeller.
The motor is good, but the prop shaft is bad and weak.

I use this engine on a 2,2m CHK Thermik Star version 1 with Trunigy Plush 40A ESC and Zippy 3S 2200mAh LiPo, driving a Aeronaut CAM Carbon 13x5" fonding prop

It draws 37,85A @ 10,62 (402W) with 7930 RPM it gives an eta of apporx. 73 giving 1650 gr. thrust. The 1750 gr. plane goes almost vertical and out of sight in about 12-15 sec. after hand start.

when flying light acro (the plane isn't build for it) and coming down 18-20 minutes later the combination is only slightly warm.

Hermoso motor, aun no lo vuelo pero se ve muy potente para un avin de 1.7 Kg ala baja. tien todo lo necesario para instalarlo. Estoy contento con este asi que seguramente comprare otro para mis otros proyectos.
