HobbyKing 3D Printer Filament 1.75mm Metal Composite 0.5KG Spool (Brass)
HobbyKing have come out with a huge new range of 3D Printer Filaments at prices that will have you printing all day and all night.
The range covers PLA, ABS, Flexible, Color Changing, Luminous, Nylon, Polycarbonate, Acetal (POM), Metal Composite and even a water soluble filament for printing molds. So there is a filament for every project you have in mind. HobbyKing filaments have a stable melting point, good round shape and most importantly a 0.01mm uniform diameter tolerance for a consistent flow rate.
These metal composite filaments are a combination of PLA with metal powder to give exciting combinations. They look and feel like the fabricated pure metal but have the ability to be easily printed from the template of your choice.
The metal composite range will give you some great looking, unique models.
3D printing is a fun and exciting hobby with a wide range of uses from prototyping parts to making toys for the kids. Picking the right filament for your application is very important.

Filament Material: Metal Composite
Melting Point: 200°C
Print Temperature: 190-200°C
Filament Diameter: 1.75mm
It printed OK for me using standard PLA settings and I used a heated bed at 60 as recommended on some other sites for metal PLAs. It's a little weird in terms of finish. So I printed a simple ingot and then sanded and polished it (or tried to polish it). When I get the surface totally smooth you can clearly see the path the printer nozzle took. It's as if the metal (if there is any) is a thin strip encased in a clear plastic tube. Not at all what I was expecting.Terrible.
Its not metal composite, but it looks far better than gold which is just a crappy yellow.
It prints like sht, print it as cold as possible 190 max. Terrible, my first print with this filament was all crappy and didnt even hold together. Then it blocked the nozzle on my other printer. Next time ill spend more on a better quality filament, the only good thing about it is the colour, but that doesnt help if you cant get a good print with it.
